Chapter 463 The Game (6) Will Never Fall in Love With You
"Must you meddle in everything, Hannah?" Charles snarled. Hannah had consistently opposed him since their broken engagement, and he suspected her involvement in his current endeavors.
"Oh, did I?" Hannah responded with a charming smile. Charles found himself struck by her beauty; she had always been pretty, but now possessed a captivating allure. He momentarily considered his lingering feelings for her, but quickly dismissed them. Hannah was merely a stepping stone, currently obstructing his path. He needed to remove her to avoid future complications.
"Will you be upset if I say I can't bear to see you thriving?" Hannah asked, her smile captivating. Charles felt his heart quicken but maintained a composed indifference. "Sooner or later, you'll regret your actions," he retorted.
Hannah scoffed. "That's exactly what I'm saying. What goes around comes around. Karma's a bitch!"
Charles clenched his fists as Hannah walked past him.
"Are you having a baby with Oscar?"
Hannah swallowed at Charles's question. The mention of babies evoked painful memories of her past life with the Sawyers, fueling her desire for their swift downfall.
"Hannah, think carefully. Oscar's a user; he's only obsessed with your body. Once the novelty fades, he'll discard you, and you'll regret having his child," Charles warned pointedly.
Hannah found his interference tiresome and sickening, given their history. "Oh, when did you become so concerned?" she asked, looking back.
"As an acquaintance, I don't want to see you in a difficult situation."
"I think you're jealous."
"You're talking nonsense!"
"You're desperate to see me fail! Your concern is thinly veiled jealousy of Oscar and me." Hannah despised him. "Charles, I suggest you don't fall in love with me. Becauseโฆ" she paused, enunciating each word with chilling precision, "I WILL NEVER FALL IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE LIKE YOU. YOU'RE WORSE THAN A MONSTER!"
Charles, enraged and discolored with fury, lunged toward Hannah. Jimmy stepped forward, shielding her. Hannah, having learned from past mistakes, had ensured Jimmy's protection.
"Want a fight? Bring it on!" Jimmy challenged coldly, his expression unwavering. Charles, aware of Jimmy's fighting prowess, backed down.
He gritted his teeth, snarling, "Just wait and see!" before striding away.
Hannah returned to the private room to find Bill's spirits high. The dinner party had been harmonious, but its brevity was dictated by Bill's early morning flight, ending around 9 pm. Hannah departed with Tan and Rose, eager to leave the Sawyer family.
The Sawyers, furious, viewed the dinner party as an insult and a trap orchestrated by Hannah.
"That little bitch! I hate her guts!" Martina spat.
"I'm furious! Seeing her fawning over Bill was sickening. What a shameless slut!" Loretta fumed, her usual dominance at social gatherings usurped by Hannah.
"When can we teach her a lesson? I've had enough!" Martina addressed Charles. "Charles, do something about that arrogant bitch!"
Charles felt awkward. What could he do? Hannah seemed impervious to his attacks, and he increasingly felt he was digging his own grave. He was unnerved by the threat she posed, a woman he had always underestimated.
"Let's go home," Lee said coldly. "The Collins family has our back. We can destroy the Coopers!"
Charles initially agreed, but the Collins family's growing disappointment with him demanded a new strategy. He couldn't allow Hannah to impede his plans.
A week later, Hannah and her e-commerce team met with Martina at the Sawyer Group building to discuss marketing plans. Lee's absence, usually a point of embarrassment, didn't faze Hannah; her focus was securing funding.
"We're finalizing the marketing plan and require funding," Hannah told Martina. "Here's the budget and transfer schedule. Provide the funds as agreed unless you have questions."
Martina reviewed the documents. They'd signed a billion-dollar contract with Bill, but Sawyer Group's poor financial standing presented a challenge. Maintaining a composed facade, she said, "Money's no object, but I need to inform my father. When can the funds be ready? You can check with me tomorrow." Martina's tone implied Hannah should report to her.
Hannah smiled coldly. "Martina, you seem to misunderstand your position. As the contracted third-party planning company, Mr. Jones clarified our responsibilities. We're in charge of the marketing plan; your company and Mr. Jones must follow my instructions. I require a definitive answer on funding by 6 PM today. You will report to me. Failure to comply will result in your company bearing responsibility for any economic losses."
