Listen to this chapter:

Hannah was sent back to the hotel by Oscar. Only the banquet hall had been changed. She was taken directly to the dressing room without seeing the new venue.

Inside, ten staff members stood respectfully, awaiting her arrival. Susan was also present, her expression deeply dissatisfied. She had witnessed Hannah's departure with Oscar and now believed, albeit with her usual exaggeration, that Oscar had orchestrated a "kidnapping." In reality, she had been invited to wait.

"I thought you ran off with Oscar," Susan said grimly.

Hannah, knowing Susan's volatile temper, quickly explained, "I went to get a marriage certificate."

"You're married to Oscar?!" Susan yelled.

The staff were startled, but Hannah remained calm. "Calm down," she urged.

Susan erupted, "Can I be calm? Charles is a hypocrite! A liar! He cheated on me for years! I thought he loved you, but he's disgusting! If I hadn't seen your proposal today, I would have killed him!"

Hannah believed her. Susan, when wronged, would fight fiercely for justice. Touched, Hannah reached out and took Susan's hand.

Susan recoiled, "Why did you take my hand?"

"I'm justโ€ฆ happy," Hannah laughed.

"Happy? Charles is evil! And Oscar? He's handsome, I'll give him that, but heโ€™s slept with countless women! What if he has a disease?"

Hannah silently wished Susan would stop cursing. Susanโ€™s agitation grew.

Hannah changed the subject, "Who do you think initiated things with Charles and Jane?"

"Charles, obviously," Susan declared.

"Don't you think Jane planned it?"

"Charles isn't stupid! Jane couldn't manipulate him," Susan scoffed. "She's not that clever."

Susan wasn't unintelligent; she simply misused her intelligence.

"You don't still expect anything from Charles, do you?!" Susan exclaimed.

Hannah rolled her eyes. She despised Charles; she wanted him dead.

"Marry Oscar instead! He might change. Men like Charles always cheat. You'll be miserable."

"No," Hannah affirmed, "I'll never marry Charles again!"

Susan's voice softened, momentarily frightening Hannah. She feared a change of heart.

Susan said sadly, "I'm so sorry for what you've suffered. One scumbag after another. You're so unlucky in love, unlike me." She then became smug.

Hannah was speechless. A normal person would be infuriated.

A staff member approached. They were clearly impatient. "Miss Cooper," she said respectfully, "Mr. Wells instructed us to dress you. Four hours until the wedding. We must hurry."

"Okay," Hannah replied. Oscar had arranged the wedding; she had no choice.

"Besides," Susan interrupted, then screamed, "Holy shit, what is that?!" Her eyes widened. A dresser revealed a magnificent wedding gown behind a curtain. A taffeta and tulle masterpiece with a 7.6-meter train, adorned with over ten thousand diamonds and pearls. It was blindingly beautiful. Designed by Sandra Mansour, the same designer who had created a royal wedding gown.

Susan was speechless. Hannah was equally overwhelmed.

The staff, anticipating this reaction, explained, "It's by Sandra Mansour, designer to the royal family. He spent a month creating it, stitch by stitch. Princess Madeleine's gown was his design!"

"Miss Cooper, let me help you change," the staff offered gently.

Hannah wondered if Oscar had prepared this incredibly expensive gown just for her. The staff led her away, pulling the curtain closed.

Susan's mood improved when a staff member presented her with a bridesmaid's dress. She happily changed, her earlier frustration fading. As she finished, the curtain opened again, revealing the bride. She was, Susan thought, the most stunning bride she had ever seen.
