Chapter 714: The Feud (19) Teamwork

"Hold on," Manuel said.

Hannah glanced back, thinking they should inform Cian and prepare him.

"No need. Cian knows we'll be there," Manuel explained.

Hannah blinked, understanding. Cian's years of specialized training undoubtedly equipped him with exceptional skills. His anticipation wasn't surprising.

"We've been trained," Manuel explained. "I'm sure Oscar has told you much of it. I won't repeat the details. Before graduating, our final test was rescuing Cian from this very villa, surrounded by guards. We passed."

Nothing could surprise her anymore. Hannah reflected on the sacrifices they had all made for the Wells family.

"Okay. You're the boss," she said, unwilling to hinder their cause.

"Do you know how many guards are in the villa?" Manuel asked.

Hannah paused, then said slowly, "Around thirty. I vaguely remember their positions. Let me draw a map for you."

"Okay," Manuel nodded.

Hannah found paper and pen and sketched the villa's layout, marking guard locations. She had wandered the grounds several times that morning, after Melvin left, envisioning a rescue attempt and mentally mapping the guards' positions. Unexpectedly, it proved helpful.

Manuel listened attentively, admiring Hannah's quick wit and composure. Most people wouldn't remain so resourceful under such pressure. They discussed the villa's layout in detail.

"Go to Cian's room. Tell him I'm here and we're leaving. There are thirty guards; Jimmy and I will handle them, covering your escape," Manuel instructed.

"Okay," Hannah replied without hesitation, trusting in their plan and the possibility of a successful escape. She took a deep breath, about to open the door.

"Hannah," Manuel called out sharply.

"Yes?" Hannah answered, her heart pounding. They were both extremely nervous, but maintained their composure. She had concealed her anxiety well, but Manuel's sudden call startled her.

"Don't panic," Manuel said, smiling. "While I'll prioritize Cian's safety, your protection is also my responsibility. Don't worry. I promise you'll be safe."

Hannah shook her head slightly, not from fear of being abandoned, but from sheer nerves.

"Here. Weapon!" Manuel handed her a gun.

Hannah was shocked.

"For your safety," Manuel said. "I'll do my best to ensure you don't need it."

Hannah gritted her teeth, accepting the weapon and concealing it. Manuel quickly hid himself, then Hannah opened the door.

Two guards stood watch. They remained alert as she passed, but Hannah remained calm and proceeded directly to Cian's room. The guards followed.

Two more guards were stationed at Cian's door, alert but silent as she approached.

"I need to speak with Harry," she said.

They watched her knock. The door opened to reveal Cian in pajamas, appearing relaxed. Another guard was inside, constantly observing him.

"I need to talk to you," Hannah said, glancing at him.

Cian's eyes widened, seeming to understand. He smiled faintly. "Okay. Come in."

Hannah nodded and instructed Jimmy, "Stay here, Jimmy." She wanted him to assist Manuel outside.

The door closed. Hannah subtly signaled Cian, who immediately understood. He approached the guard, who visibly grew uneasy.

"What are you doing?" the guard demanded.

"Are you going to watch?" Cian asked.

The guard, looking stern, remained silent.

"Fine. Suit yourself," Cian replied with a ruthless smile.

He picked Hannah up, carrying her to the bed. Hannah was startled. Cian indicated this was their only option. She agreed, and they began pretending to make love.

This made the guard uncomfortable, lowering his guard as he watched them. He lit a cigarette and stepped onto the balcony, fearing arousal if he continued watching. He hadn't indulged in physical intimacy for some time. He smoked, then, sensing something was wrong, turned to find Cian approaching, slitting his throat with a blade.

Blood splattered everywhere.

Hannah recoiled, turning away from the gruesome sight. Cian, however, remained impassive, blood staining his clothes.

"One moment. Let me change," he said.

Hannah nodded, speechless, wondering what they had endured to become so detached from life.

Cian quickly changed and said, "Manuel can neutralize the guards within ten minutes."

Hannah nodded, confident in their teamwork. A few minutes later, a knock came.

Cian opened the door to find the guards incapacitated and Manuel and Jimmy standing at the doorway, briefly surveying the dead guard.

"I'm going downstairs to create a path. Jimmy will escort you to the tunnel," Manuel said.

Cian nodded. Manuel left immediately, while Cian, Hannah, and Jimmy escaped from the upper floor.
