Chapter 843: A Deal Between Hannah and Lillian

Hannah, stunned by Lillian's unexpected words, turned to look at her. She knew Lillian would eventually compromise, but she anticipated it would take years, not this soon. What surprising news! Maintaining her composure, Hannah asked, "How did you decide?"

"I'm marrying Oscar," Lillian stated frankly.

"I know." The entire country would soon know.

"Before, I didn't care about your relationship with him. My marriage is purely political. But you're right; your existence as his mistress is the ultimate disrespect. I've never suffered such humiliation."

Hannah offered a faint smile, though her expression remained inscrutable. Lillian, intently watching her, struggled to decipher her thoughts. Anyone in Hannah's position would feel uneasy, but over time, she might adaptโ€”a concerning prospect for Lillian. Lillian, however, concealed her apprehension.

"On the wedding day," Lillian continued, "I'll help you escape his guards and get you abroad."

Hannah silently considered the feasibility. Leaving Northfield was undoubtedly the safest option, despite its sentimental value as her birthplace. She nodded, "Okay."

"This is your only chance. Fail, and Oscar will be alerted, trapping you here forever," Lillian warned.

"I understand," Hannah replied, acknowledging the gravity of the situation.

"Tell me your plan," Hannah requested.

"Oscar will be occupied with social events and the nationwide livestream of the ceremony. He won't leave the venue, and nobody will dare report anything during the ceremony."

Hannah, noting the wedding's significance, listened attentively.

"That's your escape window."

"How?" Hannah asked, considering the guards.

"Don't you remember you're pregnant?" Lillian asked, gesturing to Hannah's belly. She noted the pregnancy's impact on Hannah's appearance. Before, Hannah had remained striking even without effort; now, she looked like any other pregnant woman, except for her beautiful face. This subtle shift in appearance seemed to bolster Lillian's confidence, highlighting her own continued elegance and composure despite her own pregnancy.

Hannah sensed Lillian's condescension, acknowledging her less glamorous appearance and even momentarily wishing Oscar would tire of her.

"Feign illness. You'll be sent to the hospital, where my men will be waiting in the emergency room. Once you're past his guards, I'll get you out."

Hannah contemplated the plan. Only the Collins family held more power than Oscar in Northfield, making Lillian's offer compelling.

"But my parents?" She needed to ensure their escape, fearing Oscar's potential retaliation.

"I'll take them too. By the time you reach the hospital, a car will collect them and take them to the airport, where you'll meet and leave together."

"Lillian, can I trust you?" Hannah questioned, her skepticism evident.

"Hannah, only I dare offend Oscar. I'm scared; I can't imagine the consequences if he finds out," Lillian admitted.

Hannah remained silent.

"That's all I can do. I can't force your trust, but it's your only chance. Decide, and I'll act; otherwise, I won't pressure you."

Hannah understood; Lillian was gauging her. Regardless of Lillian's true intentions, Hannah would take the risk. Even failure meant only Oscar's potential ire, a risk she was willing to take.

Hannah nodded. "Okay, I'll do as you planned."

"The wedding is in two weeks. I'll arrange everything. Just be ready," Lillian said.

"I understand."

"Oscar knows I'm here, and I'll tell him I came for him. Don't reveal anything."

"Don't worry. He won't even speak to me," Hannah smiled, knowing their interactions were minimal, often favoring Max instead.

"Fine. Just be alert," Lillian said.

"I will."

"I have to go," Lillian said, turning to leave.

Hannah watched her go. She would never have chosen to work with Lillian if given a choice, but now, she had no alternative.

Once in her car, a vicious sneer spread across Lillian's face. She called Rowan: "Father, it's done. Hannah's fallen into the trap."
