Chapter 879: Oscar's Son Dislikes Him
"I'm not talking about your son," Susan retorted. "I'm saying you're a complete jerk. You just want to sleep with every woman you see, don't you?"
"We're only too glad to," Theodore replied. "Why not?"
"You're married!" Hannah exclaimed.
"Just a marriage of convenience."
"So Little Bunny can also have some infidelity?" Susan asked.
"Sure, if she likes," Theodore said nonchalantly. Susan imagined Theodore's reaction if Little Bunny made him a cuckold.
Hannah laughed. Turning to Oscar, she softly asked, "Why did you come so early?"
"I've already handled my affairs, and I heard you brought the baby for a checkup," Oscar explained.
"Well," Hannah smiled. For a moment, she felt a sense of closeness with Oscar, but their relationship felt strangely distant. Susan resented Hannah's tenderness toward Oscar, whom she considered a complete jerk.
Manuel, noticing Susan's displeasure, said, "Susan, give me a glass of water."
"Okay," Susan readily agreed, always willing to help Manuel. She was about to give the baby to Hannah when Oscar reached out.
"Give me the baby," he said.
Susan hesitated. She thought, Based on what? Hannah gave birth to the baby and nearly died. Oscar's just a jerk; he's not qualified to be the baby's father. If I were Hannah, I'd marry someone else and have the baby call another man daddy. The thought amused her.
"Susan, just give him the baby," Hannah said, seeing Susan's reluctance.
Speechless, Susan handed the baby to Oscar. The baby immediately burst into tears. Oscar's arms trembled nervously.
"Oscar, doesn't he like you?" Theodore joked.
Oscar glared at him.
"If not," Theodore continued, "why was the baby crying in your arms, but not in Susan's?"
Susan burst out laughing. "How interesting! His son doesn't like him."
"Susan," Manuel cautioned, gesturing for her to stop.
"Give me the baby; let's see if he dislikes you," Theodore teased.
"No, don't bother," Oscar said coldly, handing the baby back to Hannah. The baby immediately stopped crying. Perhaps, he truly disliked Oscar.
Theodore teased, "Aha, your son doesn't like you."
"Get home to your son," Oscar retorted angrily.
"Look! You're irritated," Theodore laughed.
Oscar glared at him.
"I'll go soon. I miss my son, and he can call me daddy now," Theodore said smugly. "I imagined you'd have a baby girl, and we'd be related by marriage, but he's a boy. Oh, what a pity!"
"Impossible!" Oscar stated flatly.
"Why don't you like my son?" Theodore asked resignedly.
"It's you we don't like," Oscar said seriously.
Theodore fell silent. He spoke briefly with Manuel before leaving.
After Theodore's departure, Hannah said to Oscar, "It's late; I'm going home. Will you come with me?"
Oscar nodded.
"We're going home. My parents are waiting," Hannah said.
"I'd like to stay with the baby a while longer," Susan said reluctantly.
"Susan, take care of Manuel," Hannah said with a barely concealed smirk, which distracted Oscar. Then, smiling, she said to Oscar, "Let's go."
He nodded, and they left the ward.
In the car, Hannah held her seemingly upset baby.
"What's wrong?" Oscar asked.
"Maybe he's hungry," Hannah replied. "He needs feeding every two or three hours. It's time."
"Now?" Oscar asked.
"Yeah," Hannah confirmed.
Oscar instructed his driver and bodyguard, "Stop the car, and you get out."
"Yes, Commander."
The car pulled over, and the driver and bodyguard exited. Hannah cleaned herself and began efficiently feeding her son. Oscar watched intently, thinking she had become a very capable mother.
As Hannah was fastening her clothes after the feeding, Oscar took a baby wipe to clean her. Hannah, slightly surprised, politely said, "Thank you."
