Chapter 906 Little Bunny

They spent the morning on a tight schedule, dining with celebrities at the event. Susan, a brand sponsor, occupied a prime seat. As she settled in, she noticed Little Bunny at a nearby table, her back turned. Susan was surprised; she expected Little Bunny to be home with her child and hadn't seen her earlier.

"Miss Phillips, are you alright?" the organizer asked, noticing Susan's distraction.

"I think I saw someone I know," Susan replied.

"Who?" The organizer followed her gaze, smiling. "Little Bunny?"

"You know her?" Susan asked.

"Barely," the organizer admitted. "But I remember her appearance fee was quite low."

"I didn't see her earlier."

"She's not at the main event; she's in the recording hall next door," the organizer explained. "Miss Phillips, what's your relationship with her? Had I known, I would have arranged a different assignment."

"It's not much of a relationship," Susan explained. "Before she had her baby, she did some streaming for the Cooper Group. I vaguely remember it."

"I watched that stream," the organizer said. "I invited her because of it. But it's confusing. She's rising now, yet disappeared for two yearsโ€”her most crucial development period. What a loss."

Susan thought, She spent two years having a baby, but the baby's father doesn't seem to appreciate it.

"Miss Phillips, to you," the organizer offered a toast.

"I'm not feeling well; I'll skip the wine," Susan declined.

The organizer summoned a waiter.

"Plain water for me," Susan requested.

"I can't drink, but Miss Stern can hold her liquor," Susan began, turning to Clara. "Clara, you're drinking with Mr. Hale tonight."

Clara, already irritated by Susan's orders throughout the day, recognized this as another manipulation. She saw a smug grin on Susan's face as she met Tammy's eyes. Susan's inability to drink suggested pregnancy. Clara would use this opportunity to show Susan something later.

Clara raised her glass. "Miss Phillips isn't feeling well, so I'll drink for her. To you, Mr. Hale."

"Cheers."

The toasts began, but Susan remained aloof, preoccupied with Little Bunny, who was drinking heavily.

"Is she a heavy drinker?" Susan wondered, feeling compelled to defend Little Bunny's earning her own money as Theodore Wold's wife.

Little Bunny suddenly left the table, and Susan followed. Little Bunny rushed into the bathroom and vomited.

This was Little Bunny's first endorsement since returning to her career. The fee was small, but it offered public exposure and networking opportunitiesโ€”valuable connections, regardless of whether they were capitalists or actors. She'd prepared thoroughly. However, abstaining from alcohol for so long, she couldn't handle much.

After vomiting, she looked in the mirror and saw Susan. She hadn't noticed Susan earlier because of her seating.

Susan offered a tissue.

"Thank you," Little Bunny smiled.

"Why are you socializing again?" Susan asked.

"Nicholas is almost two," Little Bunny explained. "I'm planning a show business comeback."

"Does Theodore agree?"

Susan believed Theodore should provide for Little Bunny.

"I didn't tell him," Little Bunny laughed. He didn't care. "I asked his father, and he agreed."

"Laird agreed?" Susan was even more surprised.

"Theodore and I have no feelings. We're together for the child. He didn't want the baby at first. His father, Laird Wold, forced him to marry me and keep the child. I meant to tell Theodore, but I haven't seen him in a while, and I'm afraid a phone call wouldn't be clear. I figured he wouldn't object."

Susan knew Theodore was a heartless playboy, indifferent to Little Bunny's feelings and plans.

"Who's caring for Nicholas?" Susan asked.

Susan privately thought Nicholas Wold should've been named Nicholas Hoult.

"Old Mr. Wold is retired and cares for Nicholas, with maids and nannies. He's well-cared for."

Susan nodded. It was Little Bunny's choice; she wouldn't interfere. And clearly, Little Bunny didn't intend to rely on Theodore.
