Chapter 356
I stood close to her as I watched her pull away. She reached for the keys, and I unlocked the door.
โGo thenโฆโ
She furrowed her brows. โDownstairs?โ
I nodded. โYesโฆ you want to go right?โ I asked, and she nodded. โGo.โ
Aurora smiled and was about to leave when I called, โWait.โ
She stopped, and I handed her the car keys. โYou forgot theseโฆ stay in the car, Iโll be back.โ
She took them and left. I watched her go, sighing.
I walked to the window and parted the curtain. I saw the man from yesterday, the one Iโd seen her with. Heโd been pacing there since I woke up this morning.
I watched him, sniffing. Iโd let Aurora sleep this morning, suspecting he was waiting for her.
I thought he would leave, but he was still there, pacingโฆ and thenโฆ
I closed my eyes, running a hand through my hair. What I saw next ached my heart.
Aurora had gone to meet him. I opened my eyes, looking at the man closely. I recognized him.
I gulped, noticing he was the cleaner sheโd been looking at yesterday when she slipped and fell. My heart throbbed. I held my chest, tilting my head as I fought the urge to mistrust Aurora.
โNoโฆ Aurora is a good womanโฆ Sheโs a good wife and a good mother.โ
I closed the curtains, taking a deep breath and pressing my hand to my temple. My head was ringing.
I grabbed my suit jacket and headed downstairs. I felt the urge to use the elevator, but I might run into Aurora and that manโฆ Iโd rather use the stairs.
I didnโt want to meet them. Iโd wait for Aurora to talk to me about this herselfโฆ if she ever would.
I descended the stairs slowly, my face pale, hands clamped tightly to the rails. I reached the bottom and checked out of the hotel.
Chapter 356
Stepping outside, Aurora was gone from where sheโd been standing with him. My heart clenched as panic set in. I scanned the parking lotโmy car was gone too.
โAurora? Where are you?โ I breathed, my voice barely audible as I walked down the slope.
As I stepped into the road, a car zoomed past. I jumped out of the way as the breeze blew my hair.
It stopped in front of me. I turned and saw it was Aurora. Her head was out the window, a wide smile on her face.
I nearly slapped myself. โWhy the fuck would you drive like that?โ I asked, still shocked.
I closed my eyes, breathing out sharply. Aurora would think I was sighing because of her driving, but I felt relieved because Iโd thought sheโd left.
I walked to the driverโs seat, opened the door, took her hand, and pulled her into a hug. I kissed her shoulder, running my hand through her hair.
I thought sheโฆ Thank goodness.
โDane?โ Aurora called. I pulled away from the hug and pointed to the passenger seat.
โIโll drive, go sit there.โ

She smirked, walked around the car, and got in. I sighed, watching her walk away beautifully.
I felt so glad we were finally going home. I started the car, and we drove off.
The ride home was quiet. I went to our room while Aurora went to the office after freshening up and changing.
I lay in bed, trying to forget everything that happened in Trigon. I would resume my duties in the pack today.
I heard a knock. I turned and sat up. โCome inโฆโ
The door opened, and Raven entered, bowing slightly. โGood day, Alpha Dane.โ
I nodded, and he approached, handing me an invitation.
I raised an eyebrow, taking it. I looked at it, then back at him. โA ball tonight?โ
He nodded. โLuna asked me to give this to you.โ
I nodded. He left and closed the door. I fell back onto the bed, running my hands through my hair.
Chapter 356
โFor fuckโs sake, how many more things is Aurora hiding from me.โ
I thought for a while. Was it because Iโd been sick and recovering? Did she think I was no longer capable of helping her with decisions?
I got up and called Trajan. โHey Trajan, get my office ready. Iโll be there in a while.โ
I ended the call and got ready for the office.
I reached my office and found Trajan arranging papers on my desk. I sat down and opened my laptop. โI miss this place so much,โ I said to my office, smiling.
Trajan smiled back. โNever knew youโd start so soonโฆ Did you tell Luna?โ
I raised an eyebrow. โDo I have to?โ
Itโs not like she tells me anything anyway.
โWellโฆ itโs just that sheโs got itโฆ you didnโt really need to start so soon,โ Trajan said, shrugging.
โWow,โ I said, looking at him. โWhy donโt you call her Alpha Aurora then?โ I growled through gritted teeth.
โI would never take your place, Dane.โ
