Chapter 111

Andrew stated firmly, "While Ms. Stevens might be satisfied, I'm not quite done yet."

Christina froze, wondering how he could still make demands. She thought he should be grateful and questioned his audacity.

To her surprise, Mark readily complied. "Mr. Lloyd, please tell me what else concerns you, and I'll take care of it."

"First, we still need to process the loan," Andrew said. "Second, these Jayrodale Bank employees who conspired with Nelson are no better than he is. Mr. Thatcher, I don't think you should allow such parasites to continue in public service."

"I'll have someone process your loan immediately," Mark agreed without hesitation. He then turned his icy gaze toward the employees. "Start drafting your resignations. I won't repeat myself."

The employees' faces paled. They had gotten away with so much under Nelson's protection that even complaints were ineffective. Yet, Andrew's single statement had cost them their jobs.

The female employee with the revealing blouse fell to her knees, screaming, "Mr. Thatcher, it was Mr. O'Connor who lusted after Ms. Stevens and forced himself on her! We had nothing to do with it!"

Another pleaded desperately, "Mr. Thatcher, I can't lose this job! I'll confess everything about Mr. O'Connor's crimes if you'll spare me. Nelson harassed his female employees, took kickbacks, and falsified records..."

A staff member added, "He even used company funds for personal items like lingerie, yoga pants, and other inappropriate thingsโ€”all expensed to the company."

As the terrified employees divulged Nelson's misdeeds, Mark's face darkened with anger. He slapped Nelson hard across the face and growled, "You bastard! I can't believe the outrageous things you've done. Take him away for investigation."

Nelson, already bitter about losing his position, now trembled in fear. The exposure of his private misdeeds meant more than job lossโ€”he faced jail time and lawsuits.

The other employees believed exposing Nelson would save them, but Mark ordered every single one of them taken away for investigation as well.

Shortly after, Mark had the loan processed with surprising efficiency.

As they left Jayrodale Bank, Christina felt as if everything had been a dream. She asked cautiously, "Andrew, Mr. Thatcher did all this because of you, didn't he?"

Mark's fawning attitude toward Andrew had been obvious. However, she couldn't understand what made Andrew so influential.

"Christie, you're wrong!" Irene interjected sharply. "Mr. Thatcher clearly helped us because of Harvey."

Leroy commented, "Harvey hasn't even arrived yet, so he must be pulling strings behind the scenes. Christie, don't give credit where it isn't due. Some people don't deserve it!"

"Whatever the reason, we got the loan, and that's what matters," Andrew stated calmly. "Ms. Stevens, are you really that concerned about who helped us?"

Christina bit her lip. "Iโ€ฆ well, of course I care. If possible, I'd like to thank them in person."

Andrew glanced at her and said flatly, "There's no need for that."

Christina was stunned. "So, Mr. Thatcher really did all this because of you?"
