Chapter 1149
The Haywoodsโ bounty order exploded across Blumedale like a thunderclap.
Someone exclaimed, โHoly hellโtwo elite families teaming up to hunt down one man? Who the hell is this Andrew guy?โ
Another chimed in, โThe Goldings offered 300 million, and now the Haywoods are throwing in half a billion. Thatโs 800 million in total! I mean, damnโif I were an assassin, Iโd be tempted!โ
โWith both families issuing kill orders? No way Andrew makes it past today.โ
Elsewhere, Quinton wasted no time finding Christina and her family.
โChristie,โ he said, barely hiding his glee, โthings are about to get interesting. Andrew just caused a major disaster!โ
He looked positively thrilled at the news.
Christinaโs tone remained cold. โI heard. I really donโt know where he got the nerve to kill Seth. Thatโs just ridiculous of him.โ
Irene was playing with a new bracelet, her eyes gleaming as she casually said, โWho cares? Andrewโs been arrogant long enough. Finally, someoneโs putting him in his place. Letโs see how long he keeps acting untouchable.โ
Leroy clenched his jaw. โThat bastard actually used Sethโs men to try to crush our entire family last time. This is karma. He had it coming.โ
Quinton smirked. โSo, Christie, howโs business going in Blumedale lately?โ
Christina smiled graciously. โThanks to your help, everythingโs moving along smoothly. Iโve already launched several projects here in Blumedale. Thereโs just one final investment I need to lock in, and once thatโs done, the Stevens Corporation will officially have its foot in the door.โ
Quinton nodded approvingly. โFor someone from a small city like Jayrodale, youโve got the kind of business acumen most people here could only dream of. I told you from the start, Christie, you were always destined for success.โ
Christina flashed a confident smile. โI believe in myself, but I definitely couldnโt have come this far without your support.โ
Quinton waved it off. โPlease, my help was minimal at best. In the end, itโs your talent and vision that got you here. Andrew came to Blumedale and started a company tooโbut whatโs he actually done with it? Nothing. Meanwhile, youโve already made real progress. Thatโs the difference.โ
Irene chimed in proudly, โOf course! You didnโt know this, but back in Jayrodale, Christie was already a top-tier boss lady!โ
Leroy interjected, โActually, I heard Andrewโs company scored a major contract from Mr. McCormick. If thatโs true, Andrewโs pretty impressive!โ
Quinton, Christina, and Irene all fell silent for a beat. No one wanted to remember that part of the story.
Irene glared. โLeroy, can you not? Why do you always bring up the one thing no one wants to hear?โ
Leroy laughed awkwardly. โRight, rightโslip of the tongue, Andrewโs a nobody. Useless. Totally incompetent. That was just a mistakeโmy bad!โ
Christina let out a cold huff. โIโm not one to delude myself. The truth is, Andrew did accomplish a lot after coming to Blumedale. Unfortunately, he made one fatal mistake by going up against the Haywoods. And now someoneโs dead.
โThat means thereโs only one road left for himโdeath. When that happens, all those successes become meaningless.โ
Quinton nodded. โWell said. With the Haywoodsโ influence and Xavierโs ruthless reputation, Andrew is as good as gone. By the way, Christie, you mentioned needing a key investor. Do you want me to step in?โ
Christina shook her head. โNo need, Quinton. Iโve already made contact with a potential backer. Theyโre a new company but very well-funded. Iโve been trying to meet their CEO but have had no luck. Fortunately, one of their senior reps agreed to meet me soon.โ
Quinton nodded. โAlright, just rememberโif anything gets in your way, you come to me first. Here in Blumedale, Iโm not saying I can solve every problem, but 99% of them? Iโand the Wright family behind meโcan handle it without breaking a sweat.โ
That line earned him another round of shameless flattery from Irene and Leroy.
Christina, however, said nothing. She already knew why Quinton was going out of his way to help herโand it was not out of generosity.
