Chapter 116
Andrew smiled, continuing his dinner. The matter with Christina was concluded; their paths had diverged. He no longer felt obligated to be polite to the Stevens family or Harvey. His current position, however, prevented him from maintaining a low profile. He wouldn't bother Harvey if Harvey behaved himself, but any challenge would be met with swift action. It wouldn't matter if it were just Harvey or the entire Weller family—he'd crush them all. He'd faced his share of elite families before Jayrodale.
Leroy said through gritted teeth, "Andrew, showing off is one thing, but do you think your identity warrants challenging the Weller family?"
"First, I haven't provoked your brother-in-law," Andrew replied indifferently. "Second, if you or Mr. Weller have a problem, try your luck."
Leroy fumed. He found Andrew arrogant and disrespectful.
Christina frowned. "Andrew, that's enough. No one here has wronged you."
Harvey, his eyes cold yet his smile casual, said, "Let it go, Christie. Andrew's clearly had too much to drink. Our family's status naturally attracts resentment. I understand."
Andrew chuckled. "Ah yes, the mighty Weller family. Though I've heard your Jayrodale empire has shrunk, and your family's standing has suffered."
Harvey's expression changed, shocked by Andrew's knowledge.
Irene sneered. "Declining? Andrew, don't be ignorant. Everyone knows the Wellers are a leading power in Jayrodale."
"Believe what you wish," Andrew replied dismissively. "The truth is often known only to a few."
Irene scoffed. "You're pretentious. Who could challenge the Wellers now? Once Harvey takes over, the family will reach even greater heights—dominating Jayrodale."
"Exactly!" Leroy interjected. "When Harvey controls the Wellers, they'll rule Jayrodale. Harvey, don't forget your brother-in-law!"
Harvey seized the opportunity. "Since Mrs. Stevens and Leroy mentioned it, I have something to discuss."
"Harvey, is it important?" Christina asked.
Harvey straightened, smiling. "Not major. I received insider information. A nearly $300 million profit is possible. Interested, Christie?"
Irene and Leroy gasped, their eyes gleaming with greed.
"Tell us more," Christina asked, frowning.
"An area in the East Side is undergoing major development," Harvey explained confidently. "We secured the property. We could handle it easily, but I thought I'd include Stevens Corporation. After all, Christie and I are marrying soon."
