Chapter 159
Nonetheless, Harvey found a silver lining. With Tony dead, he wouldn't have to repay those millions to East Side.
Just then, Christina stirred in her hospital bed, her face contorted in pain. She mumbled something indistinctly.
Irene leaned closer immediately. โWhat is it, Christie? Iโm here.โ
โHelp meโฆ Please help me!โ Christina whispered faintly. โIโm sorry, Andrewโฆ Iโm so sorry!โ
Despite Christina's sleep-talking, Irene turned to Harvey with a smile. โHarvey, sheโs asking you to save her and calling your name! See? Sheโs thinking of you even in her dreams!โ
Harvey's heart leaped. He rushed forward to take Christina's hand. โDonโt be afraid, Christie. Iโm here. Iโll protect you. Youโre my everything.โ
However, as soon as he grasped her hand, Christina struggled in her sleep. โYouโre not Andrewโฆ Let go of me! Andrew, Andrew, where are you? Iโm sorry. Can you save me?โ
Harvey's face darkened. The other Stevens family members shifted uncomfortably; Christina was clearly calling for Andrew.
โOh, sheโs just talking in her sleep. Donโt take it seriouslyโฆโ Irene laughed nervously. โDreams often mean the opposite of reality!โ
Yet, despite her attempts to dismiss it, Harvey's expression only grew darker. Christina seemed trapped in a nightmare, her beautiful face twisted in pain. Only when Andrew approached and she grasped his hand did she finally calm down, falling into a peaceful sleep with a slight smile. His touch seemed to dispel whatever terrors haunted her dreams.
Harvey watched silently, his eyes burning with jealousy, his fists clenched tight.
When Irene moved to separate Andrew and Christina's hands, Francesca intervened coldly. โMrs. Stevens, I suggest you donโt disturb Ms. Stevensโs rest. Or do you want her to wake up and suffer more pain?โ
โListen here, Andrew,โ Irene growled, backing down but remaining aggressive. โDonโt take her sleep-talking seriously. You two are over! Christie and Harvey are together now. Know your place, and donโt get any unrealistic ideas!โ
โMrs. Stevens, your eyesight must have deteriorated with age,โ Andrew replied calmly. โYour daughter is the one holding my hand, not the other way around.โ
Irene glared at Andrew, speechless with rage, before storming from the room.
Harvey gave Andrew a cold look and forced a smile. โWell then, Dr. Lloyd, Iโll leave Christie in your capable hands. Moneyโs no object; just ensure your service is worth it.โ
He then slammed the door shut.
Francesca scoffed. โHeโs burning with jealousy but still trying to prove himself with empty words. Harvey is becoming increasingly pathetic.โ She glanced at Christina, still holding Andrew's hand, and added with a hint of jealousy, โHey, everyoneโs gone, and Ms. Stevens is asleep. Shouldnโt you let go of her hand now?โ
