Chapter 164

Andrew’s sudden comment instantly darkened the mood for the Stevens family and Harvey.

Harvey replied with a scowl, “As I said, I was busy securing support the moment Christie was taken. Andrew, why the constant criticism?”

“Even then, you could have answered your phone,” Andrew retorted with a cold smile. “Or was that ‘support’ a cover for your fear of Tony?”

Harvey’s face darkened. Andrew had hit the mark. Humiliated by Tony’s earlier mockery, and owing him millions, Harvey had been too intimidated to confront him.

“Andrew, you’re a small-time doctor. I’m letting this slide for Christie’s sake,” Harvey said smoothly. “You may not understand the extent of my family’s influence, but those who know, know.”

Though seething, Harvey maintained a façade of indifference, projecting an image of the Weller family’s superiority.

Andrew scoffed. “Christina may be naive, but not everyone falls for your empty boasts. I don’t know much about the Weller family, but I do know you wouldn’t dare challenge Tony!”

Andrew’s blunt honesty shocked the Stevens family.

Irene exploded. “Andrew, if you can’t say anything nice, keep quiet! Who are you to accuse Harvey of fearing Tony?”

“Oh, so he wasn’t afraid?” Andrew asked with a mocking smile.

“Of course not!” Irene shouted. “If Tony were still alive, Harvey would destroy him!”

Leroy chimed in, “That’s right! Harvey could kill Tony in an instant! Tony wouldn’t stand a chance!”

The mother-son duo’s over-the-top performance made the other Stevens family members cringe. Everyone knew Christina was the family’s prized possession—beautiful and brilliant. Ironically, her mother and brother were remarkably foolish.

Harvey’s face twitched as he forced a laugh. “Mrs. Stevens, Leroy, you’re exaggerating.”

If not for Christina, he would have wanted nothing to do with these embarrassing fools who couldn’t recognize Andrew’s provocation.

“Can we stop this?” Christina frowned. “Andrew, Harvey, please stop arguing. I don’t care who killed Tony—he got what he deserved.”

Harvey smiled. “I agree, Christie. While the Weller family may have played a role in Tony’s downfall, I never wanted to mention it. Taking credit would seem vain.”

Leroy exclaimed, filled with admiration, “Harvey is so humble! He’s such a role model!”

Irene beamed with pride. “Harvey is absolutely flawless. He’s the perfect gentleman.”
