Chapter 169
Meeting Christina's disappointed gaze, Harvey suppressed his rage. He couldn't let his prize slip away; he wanted both Christina and Stevens Corporation within his grasp. Then again, there was nothing he could do. All his money was gone, lost in a disastrous investment. He had nothing left except his status as the Weller family heir.
Christina said, "Mom, stop pressuring Harvey. What's done is done, and we'll find another way to deal with the money situation." Despite her words, Harvey's pathetic rage revealed to her, for the first time, that he was not as perfect as she'd imagined.
Meanwhile, Francesca seemed entirely indifferent to the tense mood. With a bright smile, she turned to Andrew and said, "Dr. Lloyd, did you know Lauren bought you a large plot of land in West End during the planning phase?" Her eyes sparkled. "Congratulations! You're officially a millionaire."
Andrew was surprised Lauren had allocated so much to him. "Ms. Rhodes should keep the money. I don't deserve it," he said politely.
"Don't be silly!" Francesca exclaimed. "The Aickers and Lauren got this amazing opportunity because of you. Even Grandpa admires you, not to mention Lauren and me—we're your biggest fans!"
Andrew inwardly groaned. He knew Francesca was deliberately provoking the Stevens family, especially Harvey.
Sure enough, Irene fell for it. She jumped up and shouted, "So you knew all along it would be West End, not East Side?"
Andrew shrugged nonchalantly. "And what if I did? I told you all from the start that East Side wasn't worth it. You didn't listen. What was I supposed to do?"
"Y-y-you should've stopped us! Why did you just watch us get scammed?" Irene screamed before dramatically fainting.
Francesca motioned for someone to carry Irene out, chuckling. "That lady is ridiculous. She made the wrong choice, yet she's blaming Dr. Lloyd for her own foolishness. No wonder she lost everything—she deserved it."
Christina's face burned with shame. They had no one to blame but themselves. She couldn't believe she'd made such a foolish mistake.
Suddenly, Harvey lunged forward and grabbed Andrew's collar. He growled, "Don't get cocky. You just got lucky! Here in Jayrodale, I can still destroy you without breaking a sweat!"
Andrew remained unfazed. He simply smirked. "You're blaming me because you screwed up? That's rich."
Chapter 170
Harvey raised his fist, eyes blazing with fury. "I've always hated you, and now I'm going to make you suffer just as I am!"
Once, Andrew had been nothing but a loser in Harvey's eyes—a nobody, unworthy of notice. However, the tables had turned; Andrew stood in the spotlight as the biggest winner of the redevelopment deal. Harvey, in contrast, was exposed as a fraud and a complete failure. To Christina and the Stevens family, he was a pathetic, conniving fool.
Being repeatedly overshadowed by Andrew had finally caused Harvey's long-suppressed rage to explode. He was determined to destroy Andrew and salvage what little pride remained.
