Listen to this chapter:

Andrew held up his phone with a smirk. โ€œWhy should I delete it? You two are in cahoots, and if this gets out, plenty of people would love to watch the show!โ€ He added, โ€œEspecially you, Mr. Wallace. Youโ€™re supposed to be one of Mr. Thorntonโ€™s trusted men, yet here you are, taking bribes without shame. With how much he values justice and fairness, I doubt heโ€™d let this slide, at least not without consequences.โ€

Alexโ€™s expression shifted dramatically, his face darkening like a storm cloud. This wasn't his first such transgression; however, those who knew remained silent, out of fear or respect for his position. Yet, this unknown individual not only recorded everything but also threatened to report him.

Alex felt nauseous and furious, as if he'd swallowed week-old garbage.

Calvin issued a sharp, cold warning. โ€œAndrew, youโ€™d better delete that video and act like nothing happened. This is the Southern Martial Unionโ€™s main hall, and Mr. Wallace is a key figure under Mr. Thornton himself! You really think he would believe you and punish Mr. Wallace?โ€

Andrew remained unbothered. โ€œAlright then. If you two are that stubborn, Iโ€™ll go to Mr. Thornton myself. Heโ€™s right there; I donโ€™t think he would protect Mr. Wallace in front of all these witnesses, would he?โ€

With that, he started walking toward Jerome.

Alex panicked, shouting through clenched teeth, โ€œStop! Alright, damn it. What do you want from me?โ€

Andrew gave a mocking laugh, pointing at Terry. โ€œSimple. Follow the rules. This idiot broke the rules by using a weapon and pulling a cheap shot. Kick him out of the hall immediately, then announce Zachary as the rightful winner.โ€

Terry growled with hatred. โ€œWho the hell do you think you are? Iโ€™m a big deal here in Goldridge, and you country bumpkins think you can make demands? Screw you!โ€

Andrew remained unfazed. โ€œMr. Wallace, my patience is wearing thin. If this clown doesnโ€™t get out of here now, and you donโ€™t stick to the rules, then weโ€™ll take it straight to Mr. Thornton.โ€

Alex was fuming. He turned to Calvin, saying, โ€œMr. Peck Senior, I canโ€™t help you anymore. Please, take your little brat and get out!โ€

Calvin froze, shouting, โ€œAlex, what about our deal? Are you saying the price I offered wasnโ€™t tempting enough?โ€

Alex was beyond irritated. โ€œJust get out! This isnโ€™t about money anymore! Thanks to you and your brainless son, this kid now has me by the throat! Do you think the Peck familyโ€™s money is worth more than my position? If Mr. Thornton finds out Iโ€™ve been pulling this kind of stunt behind his back, neither of us will survive.โ€

Calvin felt his world crumbling. Heโ€™d already paid Alex a full hundred million in advance, sparing no expense for Terry, his illegitimate son. Yet, it all went down the drain.

Terry, the arrogant little idiot, was terrified. His face paled. โ€œDad, Iโ€™m not leaving. I refuse to go! I want to be an inner discipleโ€ฆ I want a future! I donโ€™t care how, but you have to figure it out. Just keep paying! Pay more!โ€

Calvin hissed through clenched teeth, โ€œTerry, thereโ€™s nothing I can do now. No one can break Mr. Thorntonโ€™s rules, not even us. Weโ€™ll have to swallow this humiliation, no matter how bitter.โ€

Terry instantly burst into tears, bawling like a madman. The commotion drew curious glances from nearby participants.

Alexโ€™s face tensed. โ€œMr. Peck Senior, take your crazy son and get out. This ends here. No one can help you anymore.โ€

Calvin dragged Terry away in defeat. Before leaving, he turned and gave Andrew a throat-slashing gesture.

What should have been a guaranteed win had turned into a disaster. Calvin would remember this, and he would make Andrew pay. This was a perfect opportunity and excuse to kill Andrew in Goldridge.

Once the father and son were gone, Alexโ€™s face was dark with fury. โ€œYou can delete the video now, right?โ€

Andrew calmly pulled out his phone and deleted the footage. โ€œSince youโ€™re so committed to doing the right thing, Mr. Wallaceโ€ฆ itโ€™s only natural that I show you a little good faith.โ€ He flashed Alex a casual smile.

Alex watched the video vanish, but his gaze grew cold and sharp. โ€œI remember this.โ€
