Chapter 23

“Andrew, you need to leave Jayrodale, now!” Christina urged, her eyes filled with worry.

Andrew calmly replied, “I don’t think that’s necessary.”

Christina’s voice rose. “Don’t you understand? You’re in trouble! How can you say it’s not necessary?”

Andrew smirked. “So what? Do you think I’ve caused trouble for your family?”

“Isn’t that exactly what’s happening?” Christina retorted.

Andrew was speechless.

Irene intervened, pulling Christina away. “Christie, let’s go. This trouble is nothing to do with us. Come on, let’s leave.”

Leroy added, “Christie, let’s go. Harvey returns tomorrow; he can help. Stevens Corporation won’t be affected.”

Christina nodded. “You’re right. Harvey will sort this out. Everything will be fine.”

She turned to Andrew, her expression complex. “Andrew, you should leave. I’ll ask Harvey to calm Dylan’s anger. You’ll be okay, but you probably can’t return to Jayrodale.”

Andrew chuckled sarcastically. “Is that so? Ms. Stevens, you’re so generous, asking your fiancé to save your ex’s life. Should I prepare a thank-you gift for your powerful fiancé?”

Christina shook her head, disappointed. “You’re hopeless. Even now, you’re still jealous.” She added firmly, “Harvey has the power to handle Dylan. You might not like it, but it’s the truth.”

Andrew replied coldly, “He must be impressive. But I don’t need anyone to handle my business.” He walked away.

Shawn approached with a friendly smile. “Christie, that loser doesn’t appreciate your help. He’s doomed. I was forced to act that way earlier. Don’t be angry. The Fields family will help mediate.”

Christina responded indifferently, “That won’t be necessary. Stevens Corporation won’t be troubling the Fields family from now on.”

Irene scoffed. “Shawn, the Fields family should stay out of this. You’re nothing compared to Harvey.”

As Christina’s family walked away, Shawn’s face darkened. ‘Bitch! You’ll see!’ he thought bitterly.

Later that night, in a large underground fight club, over a thousand spectators cheered as two men fought. One was powerfully built, with a fierce face and a black halt-covered chest. He charged forward roaring. His opponent was an unassuming young man with a friendly smile. With lightning speed, the youth struck the big man’s throat and withdrew his hand.

The big man froze. The audience was confused. The youth had already left the ring, his follower draping a jacket over his shoulders. The big man then collapsed.

The referee announced, trembling, “He’s dead!”

Silence, then excited cheers. “Dylan! Dylan!” “Dylan is unbeatable!”

Dylan was known as a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

“Mr. Garner, Baldy and his crew failed,” one of Dylan’s men reported.

Dylan’s smile barely changed. “What happened?”

The man replied nervously, “They ran into trouble. One guy took them all out.”

Dylan’s smile sharpened. “Useless. We have intel on every tough guy in Jayrodale. Who’s going to believe some nobody took out a dozen of my best men?”

His follower laughed nervously.

Dylan, still smiling, ordered, “Everyone who failed, cut off one of their hands. And find that guy. Send Bobby to take care of him.”
