Chapter 2406
Andrew looked a little embarrassed, knowing Luna had a point. He laughed awkwardly and said, โYeah, itโs true, I mightโve gone a bit overboard. You already know Chantelle; sheโs working under Governor McCormick. Iโll introduce you to Rowan properly someday.โ
Lunaโs expression turned cold. โThereโs no need for that. Rowan Maddock is the leader of the Onyx Serpents. I already know who she is.โ
Andrew raised a brow, confused. โWhatโs wrong? Why the sudden attitude? Do you have complaints about me being your mentor or something?โ
Luna took a deep breath, wanting to say it was not exactly a complaint. She was just bewildered. Eventually, she just shook her head and decided to keep her feelings hidden.
โNo, Iโm not upset. Itโs just that I think what youโre doing isnโt right. I mean, all these women around you are incredible, no question about it. But you really shouldnโt spend so much time getting lost in their attention, especially since youโre someone with heavy responsibilities.โ
Andrew chuckled. โI get it. Youโre worried Iโll drown in women and lose myself, right? Neglect my craft, my training, and my purpose?โ
Luna nodded, serious. โExactly. A manโs first duty should be to pursue his goals and strive for greater heights in life. With your talent and potential, you shouldnโt waste so much time on women or meaningless distractions.โ
Andrew smirked. โYouโre wrong. Iโm spending my time on you right now, arenโt I? Youโre a stunning beauty, too, the kind of peerless woman who makes men lose their minds. Whatโs more rare is that youโre also a female general.
โYou should understand that beauty alone isnโt actually that tempting to men. Itโs women who have both beauty and status, position and power. Dealing with women like that, even conquering them, is what truly gives men their greatest achievement and pleasure.โ
Lunaโs eyes widened in shock as she stared at Andrew. โWait, what are you saying? Are you implying that you agreed to teach me alchemy because of some ulterior motive like that?โ
Andrew shook his head and smiled gently. โI canโt say itโs entirely that, but I canโt say itโs completely absent either. If you were extremely ugly, then yeah, Iโd have to think twice about it. But honestly, those things arenโt that important to me. What Iโm trying to say is that I donโt waste time on women I donโt care about. But if itโs someone I like, someone I care about, then I donโt feel like time is wasted.โ
Luna let out a bitter laugh. โOh, really? With all these girlfriends youโve collected, do you even have time to handle them all?โ
Andrew flexed his arm playfully. โNo problem at all. I can manage.โ
Luna gritted her teeth and turned away without another word.
Andrew stood up and stretched. โThatโs enough for today. Itโs already past ten at night. Go home and get some rest.โ

Luna got up as well. โWhat about you? Arenโt you going home?โ
Andrew shook his head. โThe night is still young for me. Heading home too early would be a shame.โ
Then, he grabbed his jacket and headed toward the door of the courtyard.
Luna followed him, hesitating for a moment before offering, โWould you like me to give you a ride? My carโs parked right out front anyway.โ
Andrew did not even look back. He just waved his hand dismissively over his shoulder. โNo thanks. Iโve got other things to do. Iโm heading to a bar for a couple of drinks later.โ
Luna watched as Andrew walked out of Sovereignโs Apothecary and disappeared into the darkness of the night. She stood there for a long moment before finally turning back to her car.
She climbed into the military vehicle and instructed Leslie, โLetโs go. Take me home.โ
Leslie smiled knowingly from the driverโs seat. โGeneral, why didnโt you invite him to join us?โ
