Chapter 279

He leaned forward, his voice sharp. โ€œAnswer me: Atlas promised you a fifty-fifty split of the territory after taking South City. Did you seriously believe him?โ€

Natashaโ€™s glare intensified, but Andrew continued. โ€œSecond, Jayrodale has three major underground organizations; Atlas and the Northern District are the strongest. You know this. With Finley and the Hidden Dragons supporting him, Atlas is more powerful than ever. After he crushes South City, do you think he wonโ€™t turn on West End?โ€

Natasha scoffed, her voice hesitant. โ€œDo you think I don't understand Jayrodale's dynamics better than you? After taking South City, Atlas will be weakened. How could he attack me then?โ€

Andrew shook his head, smirking. โ€œCalling you stupid would be kind. Atlas has the Hidden Dragons and the ambitious Finley. Even if the Northern District is weakened, Finley can easily mobilize the Hidden Dragons. West End will be next.โ€

Natasha frowned, increasingly uneasy.

Andrewโ€™s cold laughter echoed. โ€œOnce Atlas takes South City, heโ€™ll absorb its resources and fighters. Heโ€™ll be weakened, but give him time, and West End is finished.โ€

He continued, โ€œAtlas won't tolerate a rival. Heโ€™ll destroy you. And you, the so-called Black Widow, will be a trophy. You know what that means.โ€

Natashaโ€™s expression darkened as her eyes darted to Atlas and Finley. Her anger was palpable.

Finley forced a laugh, his fan snapping shut. โ€œMadam Vostokoff, heโ€™s lying. Mr. Girodano only wants to avenge Griffin. You canโ€™t believe his accusations.โ€

Andrew chuckled mockingly. โ€œFinley, youโ€™re a terrible liar. Even a rookie wouldnโ€™t believe you.โ€

He continued, "Do you expect her to believe Atlas fights out of loyalty? Underground leaders don't care about loyalty. They use their men as pawns, then enjoy the spoils."

Atlas slammed his fist on the table. โ€œAndrew, youโ€™re crossing a line! How dare you question my honor!โ€

Andrew shrugged. โ€œIโ€™m not questioning it, Atlas. Iโ€™m saying you donโ€™t have any.โ€

Ignoring Atlasโ€™ glare, Andrew turned to Natasha. โ€œLet me simplify. Ever heard of chess?โ€

Natashaโ€™s brow furrowed. โ€œChess? What does that have to do with anything?โ€

Andrewโ€™s voice grew colder. โ€œOpen your eyes. Youโ€™re being played. Trusting Atlas will make you another cautionary tale. Donโ€™t let West End become a footnote in someone elseโ€™s story.โ€
