Chapter 325
“Hey!” one of Orion’s followers shouted. “Mr. Kelce is graciously offering you an appraisal contest, and you refuse? Do you lack the courage?”
Another chimed in, “Calling us dogs? Kid, you’re biting off more than you can chew. Such language will get you into trouble. If you don’t crawl out of this appraisal event on all fours today, I’ll take your last name!”
A third laughed mockingly. “Even Jayrodale’s antique experts wouldn’t dare speak against Mr. Kelce, yet here you are, a nobody playing the hero. Didn’t your mother teach you that sticking your neck out doesn’t make you brave? It makes you reckless, and reckless fools regret it!”
No one could believe Andrew, an outsider to the antique world, would dare provoke Orion.
Christina snapped, “Andrew, apologize to Mr. Kelce and Aspen immediately!”
“Why should I?” Andrew replied nonchalantly.
Gritting her teeth, Christina hissed, “Can’t you see how serious this is? We’re here to watch. Why involve yourself?”
Andrew shrugged. “I have no interest in antiques or their petty disputes. I simply can’t stand listening to two clowns making fools of themselves. And when those clowns decide to take a bite out of me, that’s where I draw the line.”
Christina fumed at his carefree attitude. “Fine! If you’re so determined, I won’t stop Aspen. But if she teaches you a lesson, don’t expect my intervention.”
Andrew smirked. “Aspen is just like you—an arrogant fool. Teach me a lesson? You overestimate her… or perhaps yourself.”
Christina’s face flushed crimson. She was done protecting him. If he wanted trouble, so be it. He was about to learn a hard lesson.
Meanwhile, Elsie pulled Andrew aside and whispered urgently, “Mr. Lloyd, don’t accept Orion’s challenge. Appraisal duels involve enormous stakes—usually money. He’s using his status to bully you; it’s disgraceful to even suggest such a contest against an outsider.”
Andrew shook his head, a dry laugh escaping him. “Ms. Santana, there’s no need to worry. This stubborn fool has crossed a line, and I won’t let him off easily. I must teach him a lesson.”
Several in the crowd chuckled at his audacity. Reckless, yes, but his confidence and refusal to back down were oddly admirable.
However, Orion seethed. “You ignorant brat! Let’s determine the loser once and for all!”
Chapter 328
Andrew grinned. “Calm down. Didn’t you want to test your appraisal skills against me? Let’s begin.”
Mr. Kelce growled, “You’re dead set on digging your own grave, huh? Fine, I’ll oblige. And to ensure fairness, you choose the first item.”
Elsie quickly leaned in and whispered, “Mr. Lloyd, here’s how it works: each of you selects an item for the other to appraise. The winner is determined by the accuracy of their evaluations.”
Andrew nodded, quipping, “So, I pick something for this old cheat to appraise, and he picks something for me. Got it.”
Elsie’s face froze before a sigh escaped her lips. “Yes… that’s how it works.”
She was speechless. Andrew didn’t know the basic rules of an appraisal contest yet had confidently accepted the challenge. How could someone so uninformed be so bold?
