Chapter 952
The next day, Andrew and Francesca had just arrived at Moonlit Apothecary when Phantom Eye spoke up.
โMr. Lloyd, someone caused trouble here last night. They even tried to set the place on fire!โ
Andrew let out a cold chuckle. โMustโve been Quintonโs men, huh?โ
Phantom Eye nodded. โThatโs right, it was that little coward, Shawn. He showed up with a few guys carrying gas cans, planning to burn the place down. But I caught them in the act and sent them running!โ
Francesca fumed. โPhantom Eye, you shouldโve taught them a real lesson.โ
Phantom Eye smirked. โNo worries, Ms. Aicker. That Shawn punk already got a hole stabbed through his handโhe probably canโt even hold anything now!โ
Francesca scoffed. โServes him right!โ
Nyla looked at her curiously. โDr. Aicker, you seem a little cranky today. Didnโt sleep well last night?โ
Francescaโs face turned red as she stammered, โWhat? NโNo way, Nyla, youโre imagining things!โ
Then, she shot a sharp glare at Andrew. It was all his fault he spent the whole night training, making her restless and unable to sleep until the middle of the night.
Andrew smirked to himself. This little brat was already acting up after just one night without sex. It seemed like he would have to remind her who was in charge tonight.
Shaking off his amusement, Andrew clapped his hands. โNyla, go call Shiloh and Mr. Aicker over.โ
Nyla blinked. โIs something big happening?โ
Andrew grinned. โNot really, just time to hand out paychecks.โ
Nyla was stunned for a second. Then, her face lit up with excitement. She immediately ran off to notify everyone.
Before joining Moonlit Apothecary, she was just a low-level nurse at Jayrodale General Hospital, and her pay was nothing special.
Yet, ever since coming here, she had worked tirelessly, keeping everything in perfect order, so hearing that payday had finally arrived made her genuinely happy.
Francesca beamed. โAndrew, youโre handing out paychecks? Then what about mine?โ
Andrew smirked. โFran, youโre not getting one.โ
Francesca immediately pouted. โWhy not? Iโve worked hard for Moonlit Apothecary too!โ
Andrew chuckled. โAs my woman, this place is yours too. So, you donโt need a paycheck, do you?โ
Francesca froze. โYour woman?โ
Then, it hit her what Andrew meant, and her innocent face instantly flushed red. Her heart felt as sweet as honey, but she still huffed in mock annoyance. โWhoโs your woman? I donโt care about that title!โ
Phantom Eye grinned. โUh, Mr. Lloyd, Iโm getting a paycheck, right?โ
Andrew waved him off. โNot a chance. Youโve only been here a day and already want a paycheck? Keep dreaming!โ
A martial arts master feared across Blumedale, Phantom Eyeโs face instantly fell. He looked like a scolded child, utterly dejected.
Francesca giggled and patted his shoulder. โDonโt worry, Phantom Eye. Once youโve worked a full month, youโll definitely get paid, and Iโll even give you a high salary!โ
Phantom Eye brightened up. โWell, in that case, thanks in advance, Mrs. Lloyd!โ
Francescaโs cheeks turned even redder, but she could not hide the joy bubbling inside her.
Being called โMrs. Lloydโ meant people were acknowledging her as Andrewโs woman.
โHah! Itโs just a tiny little clinic, and youโre acting like itโs some grand business empire,โ a mocking voice suddenly rang out.
Andrewโs expression darkened as he turned toward the entrance.
Christina and her family had walked in, each wearing a different expression. The one who had just spoken was Leroy, standing at the front with a smug smirk.
Francesca instantly stepped forward, standing protectively in front of Andrew as she glared at Christina.
โMs. Stevens, what brings your family here? If thereโs no real reason, then please leave!โ
Christina frowned. โMs. Aicker, you seem to have some misunderstanding about me.โ
Francesca scoffed. โNo misunderstandingโI just donโt like you!โ
