Listen to this chapter:

Once the wedding ceremony ended, everyone sat around talking and eating the cake Keeley had loved from Jennica's wedding, foregoing traditional reception activities. There weren't enough guests.

As a joke, Keeley handed her bouquet to Valentina, the only unmarried woman present. Her eyes twinkled. "This means I'll get married soon, right? It worked for you!"

"That's true," Jennica said. "I totally forgot you caught the bouquet at my wedding."

Lydia looked at her in disbelief. "She caught yours too? No wonder she got married so quickly! Double bouquet-catching power!"

Keeley rolled her eyes, but Aaronโ€”not superstitiousโ€”wondered if there was something to it. It was at least as plausible as their reunion. In April, when Lydia married, she still disliked him. Yet, here they were.

He couldn't believe his luck. After years of dreaming about it, Keeley was his wife again. It wasn't how he'd envisioned it, but it didn't matter. What mattered was that she was there, in a wedding dress, smiling at her friends.

Aaron still felt guilty about how things had gone. He'd wanted to marry her, but he'd wanted her to want it too. He would spend their lives ensuring she didn't regret her choice.

"Congrats, my dude," Aiden said, clapping Aaron's shoulder. "I'm happy for you."

Of everyone there, Aiden probably understood Aaron's years-long struggle best. He'd been Aaron's closest friend for the longest time, even beating out Cameron by a few months.

"Thanks," Aaron said with a wistful smile. None of this would have been possible without Aiden. He was the main reason Aaron felt comfortable pursuing Keeley again. Without Aiden's help, he wouldn't have dared.

"You should dance with your wife," Aiden said, gesturing toward Keeley, who was laughing with Keisha.

"There's no music."

Aiden held up his phone. "I've got the internet. Make a request."

Music wasn't Aaron's forte. He couldn't think of any songs. Then he remembered one Keeley had sung.

"Umโ€ฆdo you know 'You Are My Sunshine'?" he asked, embarrassed.

"Everyone knows that song! A bit odd, but okay. I've got your back; go get her."

Aiden gave a thumbs-up as Aaron nervously approached Keeley. "Do you want to dance?"

She raised an eyebrow. "To what?"

The music started, answering her question. She smiled and took his hand. Instead of a waltz, she put her arms around his neck, he wrapped his around her waist, and they swayed.

A female singer performed the song slowly and sadly, accompanied by guitar and piano. The lyrics hit Aaron harder than before. No one could take his sunshine away.

"That's a random song choice," she whispered, smiling.

"It's exactly how I feel about you."

Surprise lit her eyes. Keeley teased him. "Aaron Hale, that's the most romantic thing you've ever said to me."

Was it? He needed to improve, as Aiden would say. Romance wasn't his forte, but she deserved better.

They danced until the song ended, and everyone clappedโ€”a bit embarrassing. They spent the rest of the ride back to the marina chatting with guests.

Reaching shore, guests threw confetti as they got into Aaron's car. They went straight home; Keeley was exhausted. They had a belated honeymoon/graduation trip planned for January, after her PhD.

She'd be five months pregnant, so flying wouldn't be a problem. They were going to England and France to see popular tourist spots before the baby arrived.

Keeley's excitement relieved him. He wanted her to be happy and enjoy life to the fullest.

Back at their apartment, Aaron scooped her into his arms for a bridal carry.

"Is this necessary?" she squeaked, covering her face. "People can see us!"

"Yes, they can see how beautiful my bride is, and how lucky I am."

She grumbled, "You're ridiculous."

"Ridiculously in love with you," he said, as they reached the elevator. He didn't put her down until they were in their apartment.

Keeley went to her bedroom to change. He followed, knowing she'd need help. She emerged blushing, unable to zip her dress.

As he'd predicted. He'd helped her with dresses before.

"Don't be embarrassed," Aaron reassured her. He'd read that it wasn't a good idea to have sex too early in pregnancy. Not that he thought she'd be interested, even if she wasn't pregnant.

She relaxed slightly. Had she really been worried about that? He wasn't an animal. Hadn't he respected her boundaries regarding their engagement and marriage?
