Chapter 375 Why Didn’t You Remind Me?

Meryl’s period this month was indeed delayed for a few days. But she never considered this possibility. The kidnapping caused her emotions to fluctuate wildly, affecting her endocrine system and leading to a delayed menstrual period. She thought it was a normal reaction. She subconsciously attempted to examine herself. However, realizing that even a doctor couldn’t treat herself, she gave up.
“Come on, Meryl. After dinner, I will take you to the hospital for a check-up!” Bianca was thrilled. There had been a lot of troubles lately, and finally, a piece of good news came. Knowing that a check-up was necessary, Meryl didn’t refuse. They soon finished dinner and headed to the hospital.
Bianca was very enthusiastic. She asked Meryl to sit in the lobby and then hurried to take care of the registration. It took an hour to get the results after the blood was drawn. Bianca felt bored waiting and suggested that she and Meryl go… Meryl, not in the mood, asked her to go by herself.
Bianca believed that if Meryl was pregnant, it would be in the early stages, and she needed extra attention, so Bianca didn’t push her. “Don’t run around. I’ll be back soon,” she warned. After watching her leave, Meryl sat there and browsed her phone for a while. She sent a message to Walter: [Have you arrived in Griffore?] He replied quickly: [Yes. Mrs. Aniston, what can I do for you?]
[Chandler…] Meryl wanted to mention that Chandler hadn’t answered her calls, but then she reconsidered. Walter was just an assistant, so she shouldn’t share that information. She replied: [Nothing. It’s just a casual question.]
Meanwhile, Walter followed Chandler and prepared to attend a dinner party. He didn’t think much about it and put his phone away. Chandler glanced back and immediately spotted the familiar profile on Walter’s phone screen. He smiled unconsciously.
Did Meryl turn to Walter because she couldn’t get in touch with him?
“Troublesome,” Chandler suddenly said. “My wife will inquire about my whereabouts even when I am on a business trip.” Walter paused and glanced at Chandler in surprise. The latter beamed with joy. How could he find it troublesome? He was clearly enjoying it and showing off to him that Meryl cared about him.
Though shocked, he kept his composure as an employee and echoed Chandler’s words. “Mr. Aniston, I’m not married yet. How could I know this and remind you?”
“That’s right.” Chandler nodded and looked Walter up and down. “I heard that you and your girlfriend broke up a few days ago. No one disturbs you when you are on a business trip. You must be very happy.”
Walter was speechless. He thought, “That’s enough. I get it. Please stop showing off and touching my sore spot, okay?”
Learning that Chandler had landed safely, Meryl felt relieved. After putting away her phone, she saw from a distance Sandra covering her forehead and entering an emergency room with Malcolm beside her. It seemed Sandra had been struck on the head, and blood was gushing out of her forehead.
“I’m going to sue them! They’ve seriously affected my life!” Sandra cried before Malcolm and complained, “They already smashed my flower shop a few days ago and now even beat me up! Why did you stop me? I want to call the police!”
“Enough! Call the police? Aren’t you ashamed?” Malcolm was impatient. Bianca had just kicked him out of the Stone Villa when he received a call from Sandra. Sandra told him that she had been beaten, was bleeding on the floor, and was dying.
