Chapter 495 Where Is the Ring?

“Meryl, I am taking care of Rachel on behalf of her brother. I only regard her as my sister. Don’t let your imagination run wild."

“I’ll introduce you to each other later."

“Rachel can’t be the reason for our divorce unless…” Chandler fixed his eyes on Meryl’s face and said cautiously, “Unless you fall in love with another man."

She frowned subconsciously. She didn’t fall in love with another man.

“I don’t.”

Chandler breathed a sigh of relief. His intense gaze was unreadable.

“Then stay with me. I will be worried if you are with another man."

“When we got married, I stressed that divorce was out of the question.”

Chandler glanced up at Meryl and tried to hold her hand. He was shocked to notice that the wedding ring on her ring finger had been removed at some point.

“But I am very happy that you are jealous of me."

“At least I know you care about me.”

He pulled Meryl into his arms again. A deep and restrained kiss landed on her forehead.

Chandler asked aggrievedly and dotingly, “Where is the ring? I’ll help you put it on?”

Meryl deliberately replied, “I threw it away.”

Chandler was choked. He fell silent with a pained expression.

Did she throw away her wedding ring? He frowned and stared at her for a long moment.

As Meryl had no intention of denying it, he said helplessly, “Well, I’ll buy you a new one.”

She looked up and met his sincere gaze. She did not throw the ring away but put it in a drawer upon arriving home. Meryl had planned to ask for a divorce and return the ring to him.

Was it really that her imagination ran wild? But what about that bracelet? It was worth 100 million dollars. She was still upset that Chandler had given it to Rachel.

Meryl felt inexplicably empty.

After carrying her to the bed, Chandler kissed her passionately on the lips, released her reluctantly, and hugged her tightly. He almost lost her. Fortunately, the misunderstanding was cleared up.

Not long after they lay down, Chandler’s phone rang. He glanced back at her.

Meryl seemed to be asleep with her eyes shut. She attended an auction today. As a pregnant woman, she would probably be exhausted, and it was already late.

Worried about disturbing her sleep, Chandler stepped outside into the corridor to answer the call.

Meryl opened her eyes.

The night was so quiet that she could hear Chandler’s voice. “How could it be so serious? Wasn’t she fine when I left?"

“Wait, I’ll be there right away.”

Half a minute later, he hung up and returned to the room. Meryl immediately closed her eyes.

In the darkness, Chandler sat beside the bed, staring affectionately at her sleeping face for a full minute. He wanted to stay with her, but now, he had to go to the hospital.

Rachel was seriously injured and lost a lot of blood. She fell into a coma and urgently needed a blood transfusion. The blood bank had run out of B blood, which happened to be his type.

“Meryl.” Chandler gently stroked Meryl’s cheek and whispered, “Have a good rest. I need to go out for a while.”

She was speechless.
