Chapter 500: Childhood Sweethearts

Rachel woke up. A doctor told her that three days had passed since she fell into the water. During this period, she had lain in bed in a coma. Her calf was broken and in a cast. When she moved, it hurt so much that she wanted to cry.

However, there was no one around. Other patients had families, but Rachel was alone. She was very depressed. The Morgan family had fallen into decline. She had no relatives and was so seriously injured. Had her brother been alive, he would have stayed by her side and taken care of her.

But he had passed away more than ten years ago, and now the only one she could rely on was Chandler.

Walter came in. “Ms. Morgan, you’re awake.” In the past two days, he had been in contact with the hospital. “The doctor said that you have a broken bone and that it will take half a month before you can get out of bed.” Walter fixed his eyes on Rachel’s legs. “What do you want to eat? Rachel asked, “Will he come after getting off work?”

Walter said in a serious tone, “There will be a fireworks display in Kingsdom tonight. He will probably take his wife to watch it.”

Rachel was stunned. She wept bitterly and found it unbelievable. “I was seriously injured, but he ignored me and planned to watch the fireworks. What am I?”

Walter was very patient. “Ms. Morgan, it wasn’t Mr. Aniston who caused your injury. Why can’t he go watch the fireworks? Besides, I am here to accompany you, aren’t I?”

Rachel growled, “I don’t need you to accompany me. Who are you to me?”

Rachel frowned. “You know nothing. Chandler and I are childhood sweethearts. We grew up together. My brother lost his life to save him. Therefore, isn’t it his responsibility to look after me?”

Walter replied, “Mr. Aniston owes your brother a favor and should repay him. When you were injured, he came to the hospital late at night to give you a blood transfusion and sent someone to take care of you. He has done his utmost. Ms. Morgan, he already has a wife. You need to behave yourself.”

Rachel was speechless, and her face blushed with rage. Unable to refute Walter, she drove him away.

Rachel glanced down and saw the pearl bracelet on her wrist. She was increasingly furious. The bracelet was a reminder of all the humiliation she had suffered that day.
