Chapter 562 Feels Numb

A beam of light shone down from behind Chandler. He glanced at Jason calmly and said, “You didn’t offend me. I just want to send Dante to the police station to calm him down.”

Chandler was worried about leaving Dante alone at home. But if he left Dante at the bar, he worried that Dante would be set up.

There was no more suitable place than the police station. It could restrict Dante and give him enough time to calm down.

Jason was speechless and thought, “Why do you two involve me, an innocent person, in your quarrel?”

The police arrived quickly. Within a few minutes, several men in uniform came in and took Dante away.

Chandler had handled cases of this kind when he was an intern at the police station and guessed that Dante would probably be detained for five days.

Five days was enough for Dante to calm down.

Dante cursed when he was taken away, “Chandler, why are you so sinister?”

He had just thought Chandler was joking, but he didn’t expect Chandler actually to call the police.

Dante thought, “If I really engaged in sexual transactions, it would be fair for me to be in jail. But I didn’t. Why should I go to jail for just drinking two glasses of drinks?”

It was almost dawn when Chandler came out of the bar.

Meryl was still sleeping in bed when Chandler returned home.

He took a shower, got into bed, and hugged her tightly.

Although his movements were light, Meryl was a light sleeper and still felt it. She immediately smelled the alcohol on Chandler.

“Did you drink?”

“I had two drinks with Dante.”

“What about Dante? Is he okay?”

Chandler nodded. “Well, I found a safe place for him to rest.”

Thinking that Chandler probably didn’t sleep all night, Meryl didn’t say anything else.

After Chandler fell asleep, she gently closed the door and came out.

She felt like the last two days had been so long, and so much had happened.

Meryl had not slept well last night, and she had even had a nightmare.

She had dreamed that a big snake was chasing her. The key point was that no matter how she tried to hide, she couldn’t escape.

So when she woke up, Meryl felt tired, as if she had run a marathon all night.

She had breakfast at home and went to the maternity and baby store later to buy some things for Anne and her baby.

But Meryl hadn’t expected to see a black car just after she came out of the store.

Meryl felt that the car looked familiar. When she got closer, she saw that it was indeed Felix.

This time, Meryl didn’t let him ask her and went in the car on her own.

She didn’t say much but directly checked Felix’s situation.

“How did your legs feel these past two days? Did you feel anything?” asked Meryl.

Felix’s eyes showed no emotion. “It seems that my legs can feel the cold recently.”

Meryl nodded, took out a pen and paper, and wrote down two herbs. “Continue to soak. Add two more herbs to the previous prescription.”

Then, she tapped Felix’s knee joint twice. “Do you feel anything?”

“It feels numb.”

Meryl took out the acupuncture tools from the storage box in the car and said, “Lie down, and I will give you acupuncture.”

Unexpectedly, Felix didn’t do as she asked. Meryl began to treat his legs in a businesslike manner just after she got into the car. Felix didn’t know what was wrong with her.

Felix supported his head with one hand. “Why should I listen to you?”
