Meryl chatted with Anne for a while in the hospital and gave her the clothes she had bought at the maternity and baby store that morning.
“Have you chosen a name for your baby?”
Anne looked much more energetic than yesterday; even her eyes looked brighter. After a night’s rest, her complexion seemed to have recovered.
“I’m going to call her Bella, Bella Blanchett.”
Meryl nodded. “This name is quite adorable.”
Anne could eat the next day after the operation, so Yancey cooked soup for Anne at home. She gently pulled Meryl’s hand and whispered, “Yancey and I are in a relationship.”
Meryl was stunned, her eyes showing surprise. “Are you serious?” Thinking of Yancey going into the operating room yesterday to give Anne a blood transfusion, Meryl asked, “Do you have a crush on him, or are you moved?”

But it was normal. After all, the two had lived in the same house for seven or eight months. Yancey got up every morning to prepare breakfast for Anne and heated a cup of milk for her in the evening. He was so considerate that it was easy to make Anne soften her heart.

Chandler was standing in the corridor. He grabbed Meryl’s hand once he saw her.
“Are you hungry? Let me take you to eat something.”

“I just said it casually. If she’s a daughter, then of course I’ll like her more.” Chandler looked at Meryl’s belly.
She had been pregnant for almost four months, but her belly hadn’t grown.
“Do you need to check again? Are you malnourished?” asked Chandler.
“It’s not time for the prenatal checkup yet.” Meryl took a bite of the cupcake and said vaguely, “I asked the doctor. Some people are naturally thin, so they don’t look pregnant. It is normal.”
