Chapter 677 Still Alive

Andy’s gaze swept coldly over Emilia’s face. He gave a curt nod and, with an impassive expression, slipped the change into his pocket before stepping out of the convenience store.

He hadn’t gone far when his phone rang.

He pulled a cigarette from the pack and held it between his lips, using his other hand to fish his phone from his pocket.

It was an unknown number.

He rejected the call.

On the other end, Daniel cursed. “Damn! He’s ignoring my call! Does he not care about his sister’s life anymore?”

With that, Daniel kicked the woman in front of him.

Rachel cried out in pain.

She’d just had a miscarriage and was extremely weak. The kick landed right in her stomach, nearly making her pass out.

Tears streaming down her face, Rachel looked at Daniel and pleaded pitifully, “Please, let me go.”

Never having experienced anything like this before, Rachel was terrified. No matter how hard she racked her brain, she couldn’t figure out why these people had kidnapped her.

She’d only been back in the country for just over six months, and the only person she’d offended was Meryl… but Meryl couldn’t possibly do something like this.

“Let you go?” Daniel sneered. “Take a good look at my face. Do I look like someone who shows mercy?”

“What do you want then?” Rachel said frantically. “Money? Chandler has plenty of it! Just let me call him. He’ll give you whatever amount you want!”

“You think you can brush us off with pocket change? I couldn’t care less about your dirty money!”

Daniel stopped wasting words with Rachel and ordered Eric and the others to keep a close eye on her.

Rachel had been tied up for an entire day, her limbs bound so tightly that she was starting to lose circulation.

With so many of them around and having been brought here blindfolded, escape wasn’t even a remote possibility.

But if they didn’t want money, what did they want…

This fear of the unknown left Rachel feeling helpless and terrified.

Eric walked over and patted Rachel’s cheek.

He was missing a front tooth, making his smile look creepy. “Hungry, aren’t you? Want something to eat?”

After a full day without food or water, Rachel nodded without hesitation. “Yes!”

Eric “kindly” unscrewed a bottle of water. Rachel watched longingly, instinctively leaning forward.

But… he poured all the water onto the ground, not letting her have a single drop.

Rachel realized she’d been played, feeling both angry and frustrated.

She truly had no idea what grudge these people could have against her.

“What will it take for your boss to let me go?” she asked.

Eric gave a mysterious smile. “Just wait. You’ll find out in a couple of days.”

He cracked open another bottle of water and took a sip. “You know, if your dear brother would just pick up his phone, none of this would’ve happened.”

Andy was notorious for his schemes and always had a backup plan. Their guys couldn’t even track him down to deliver a message. He’d vanished without a trace.

“I already told you,” Rachel said irritably, “if you’ve got beef with Chandler, go after Meryl instead. She’s carrying his baby! She’s worth way more than me!”

Eric chuckled, “Who’s talking about Chandler? I’m talking about Andy! Just how many brothers do you have?”

Rachel froze, thinking she must have misheard.

Andy…?

“What nonsense are you talking about?” She couldn’t wrap her head around it. Eric’s words seemed utterly absurd. “My brother has been…”

Dead?

Rachel furrowed her brow.

Back then, they never found Andy’s body. The police couldn’t locate him at all. Everyone assumed Andy had been killed by those thugs and buried somewhere in the wilderness. That was why they couldn’t find any trace of him.

Éric pressed his tongue against his cheek, flashing a wicked grin. “Andy’s not just alive! He’s our boss‘ arch–nemesis! Always getting in our way! Man, you have no idea how much we hate his guts. Our boss would love nothing more than to tear him apart.”

Eric patted Rachel’s cheek. “Tsk, why are your eyes getting red? That shocked you, huh? Andy’s been hanging around you all this time! Don’t tell me you never noticed?”

A tremendous shock filled Rachel’s heart.

“Andy is alive? He’s been near me all this time? Why haven’t I seen him even once?

This guy’s story seems too detailed to be made up, but if… Andy is really alive. Why hasn’t he shown himself to me all these years?

And these people… they’re clearly bad news. What did Andy do to make them so angry that they’d kidnap me and treat me like this?”
