Chapter 274
Kellan's voice dripped with sarcasm. "Even if Dad hears about today's drama, it won't change a thing. This is child's play at best. How could he ever be a threat to me?" His words carried the weight of undeniable truth.
With his current status and fortune, Kellan knew he could stand tall in Ontdale, even without the Lloyd Group. But the Lloyd Group was his mother's legacy, and no one would be taking that from him. As for his negligent father, despite holding shares, Kellan knew Brook wouldn't dare challenge him outright.
Releasing Nova's wrist, Kellan wiped his fingers with deliberate nonchalance, as though ridding himself of something foul. In this moment, he was eerily similar to Allison; both shared a deep-seated revulsion for anything remotely repugnant.
"And as for the racing incident and that pathetic kidnapping stuntโwhoever set that in motion better be ready to deal with the fallout," Kellan said, his voice sharp as steel. "Right now, this is the Lloyd family's domain. We don't make room for certain riffraff here."
His expression turned cold, and his voice rang with authority. "Jim, show them out!" At Kellan's command, Jim immediately summoned the bodyguards stationed outside. He had bitten his tongue long enough, and now his glare barely concealed his loathing for the audacious mother and son.
"Mrs. Lloyd, I suggest you leave on your own before we escort you out for trespassing," Jim warned. The bodyguards closed in, their presence radiating intimidation.
Nova stood frozen, at a loss for words. She had hoped to see Kellan squirm, but she hadn't anticipated his sheer refusal to even pretend. Not only had he nearly crushed her wrist, but now he was openly ordering them to leave! Humiliated and seething, Hoyt forced himself to stand.
Ready to retaliate, he barked, "Who dares to throw us out? I'm the second son of the Lloyd family! If youโ" He didn't get the chance to finish. With a dismissive glance from Kellan, the bodyguards moved in, surrounding him.
"Second son of the Lloyd family?" Kellan's sneer sliced through the air. "You have the nerve to say that? As long as you're not acknowledged, you'll remain little more than shadows beneath our feet." His eyes darkened as he added, "If they won't leave on their own, then toss them out."
"Right away, sir." Without hesitation, the bodyguards flicked on their stun guns, the crackling sound filling the room. Even Floyd, usually kind and gentle in appearance, began twirling a scalpel between his fingers, a twisted grin creeping onto his face.
"You two don't need to fear dying here. I'm generous. I'll make sure you walk out alive."
Nova and Hoyt froze in terror. They had never expected that Allison had such a medical expert willing to get his hands dirty.
"You you've all lost your minds" Hoyt stammered, his voice trembling as he instinctively backed away.
Nova, scrambling to regain her composure, added, "We'll leave on our own. But Kellan, if you think you can show your true face today, be ready for Brook's wrath!"
"Finished with the empty threats?" Kellan asked dryly. Nova's expression tightened. She hadn't expected Kellan to be so unapologetically defiant. Seeing the seriousness in the bodyguards' eyes, she quickly helped Hoyt to his feet, and they limped their way out of the villa.
Hoyt, still nursing his pride, shouted, "You just wait!" But the moment he saw the bodyguards step closer, he bolted, running like a man fleeing his own shadow.
