Chapter 14
My words completely transformed their expressions. “What did you say?” Azazel asked urgently. “Sylvia, don’t joke about such things!” Christine quickly added.
I looked at them coldly and spoke dispassionately: “My child is gone. Azazel is dead. I have no connection to the Winters family anymore. I won’t be going back with you. Please leave and don’t come again.”
With that, I called security to escort them out. Azazel’s face changed completely. He stared at me in disbelief, his expression ugly. “Have you lost your mind? You’re throwing us out? I agreed to the arrangement—what more do you want? Enough with these games. If you reject us now, I won’t come back. Don’t regret it later.”
Christine laughed awkwardly. “You look healthier—how could you have lost the baby? You must be joking, still angry about what happened before. Sylvia, I have to scold you—too willful, always hurting our family’s feelings.”
I was tired of dealing with them. I simply tossed them the abortion report and had my security team throw them out. I heard that after being expelled, they looked at the report and realized I had indeed terminated their family’s only bloodline.
They were furious. Momentarily forgetting they still depended on my father for their livelihood, they created a scene outside, shouting that I was shameless, that I had killed the Winters family’s child, and that I would face karmic retribution.
The men waiting in line finally realized who they were. Remembering how Azazel had called me “damaged goods,” they rushed forward to defend my honor, beating the Winters family quite severely. I heard they were eventually left lying on the ground, unable even to curse anymore.
