Chapter 94: Tell His Father to Give Money

Cheyenne shook off painful memories and smiled at the handsome little boy before her. "You're so sweet. What's your name?" She gently held him.

He didn't resist, even kissing her face. The kiss was loud enough for Iker, in the hallway upstairs, to hear. A gloomy expression clouded his face. How could someone who casually kissed a girl be his younger brother?

Cheyenne still felt the child's soft touch, bursting into laughter. "Hahaha, he's adorable! Master Iker, may I borrow your little brother for two days?"

Lewis furrowed his brow. "Fairy sister, I can't be lent. Mommy will worry." But he liked her. What should he do?

Suddenly, his eyes lit up. "Sister, will you live with us? Then my brother and I can see you every day!"

Iker's internal monologue: It's his business, why should it involve me?

"Lewis Todd," Iker threatened, his tone firm, "if you keep this up, I swear I'll toss you out!"

Lewis knew his full name meant his brother was angry. He sat up straight, snuggling into Cheyenne, but glancing upstairs.

"Master Lewis," Cheyenne said, "I can't stay. And I'm not your brother's girlfriend. He's fierce and grumpy…"

"Yes," the little boy agreed.

Iker's expression darkened as he listened to her assessment. With a cold humph, he said, "Come here! Don't forget why you're here."

Cheyenne made a face. After placing Lewis on the sofa and patting his head, she left. "Master Lewis, I'm going now. Let's play again soon."

"Okay, sister."

Iker relaxed, wondering why he hadn't sent Lewis back to Erica's sooner. He'd only kept him because of a recent cold. Otherwise, he would have sent him back.

"Tanner, have the servants send him back and remind them to request his food expenses."

"Yes, Master Iker."

Cheyenne was surprised. "You charge for meals? He's your brother."

"Blood is thicker than water, but money talks," Iker replied.

Cheyenne thought it unfair. They were family.

Soon, Kai and Erica arrived. Erica, in a white dress and high heels, looked stunning. Her eyes flashed with displeasure before she plastered on a fake smile. "Miss Lawrence, how are you feeling? We're so sorry about the incident. It was our fault you were hurt."

Kai shook Cheyenne's hand. "Don't worry, Mr. Todd. I'm much better."

Cheyenne, knowing her grandfather had dealt with the snake, felt no resentment.

"We should go," Erica said, taking Lewis. "We have matters to attend to."

Kai apologized. "Thank you for your care at Iker's Estate, Miss Lawrence. My wife and I will make it up to you."

"You're welcome, Mr. Todd."

Lewis waved goodbye. "Bye, pretty missy!"

"Okay," Cheyenne replied.

Erica frowned at Lewis's closeness to Cheyenne. "Be quiet, don't disturb your brother," she said.

Lewis covered his mouth. "Mommy, I know," he whispered.

Alone, Cheyenne remembered her purpose. "Oh right! I almost forgot." She produced a medical report and two photos. "This is your blood analysis, and this is from another deceased person. They show a 95% match of similar drugs." The photos showed the deceased.

Iker glanced at them, noting the conclusion: Datura stramonium.

"I don't know him," Iker confirmed. "His background is ordinary, no connection to the Todds. But why would someone pay to harm a taxi driver?"

Datura stramonium is a poisonous plant from the Congo Basin. It only blooms for seven days in May, and harvesting is difficult due to flooding and wildlife. Significant funding is needed.

Iker, heir to the Todd fortune, was an obvious target. But why the taxi driver? He'd never been near Datura stramonium.

"I'll investigate," Iker said solemnly.

"His parents are in Akloit. My friends are contacting them."

Cheyenne sighed, ending the conversation.
