Chapter 96: Kelvin's Fury

Cheyenne cautiously opened the door, peeking inside. The room was empty. Confidently, she stepped out, still in her bathrobe. A black maid's outfit lay on a nearby chair. She picked it up, sniffing it; it smelled only of laundry detergent. Sighing, she reluctantly put it on and went downstairs.

Iker was lounging on the sofa, sipping coffee, when he heard footsteps. Several tall figures in black, led by his younger brother, Davon, entered. Beside Davon stood a sharply dressed man in a white suit with piercing eyes.

"Kelvin?" Iker questioned, surprised.

With thinly veiled sarcasm, Iker greeted them, "Mr. Foley! What brings you all to my humble abode?"

Kelvin studied Iker, still in his damp bathrobe. Davon calmly explained, "Iker, I invited Mr. Foley. The summit will be held on the 13th of next month; the President and Emily will attend."

The name Emily sparked a surge of anger in Iker. She was the heiress of the Davidson family, the President's goddaughter—a "goddess" in every sense. A Harvard graduate with a degree in jewelry design, she was fluent in eight languages, skilled in music, an accomplished artist, and breathtakingly beautiful. After returning to Chulae, she launched her own luxury brand, "Dream."

Emily had once been Iker's fiancée. The marriage had been arranged long ago, a promise made by the President to old Mr. Todd after he saved the President's life. The President's daughter was stillborn, and at thirty-five, he adopted Emily. When Iker turned eighteen and Mr. Todd was dying, he ensured the President fulfilled his promise. They were engaged; Iker was eighteen, Emily seventeen.

After their engagement, Iker rose through the ranks, becoming a celebrated military general and a star in Chulae. Then, an accident crippled him. The President proposed marriage again, but Emily, unable to accept a disabled husband, broke off the engagement. Iker was publicly humiliated. The President, furious, banished Emily to Metshire for half a year.

Iker hadn't thought of Emily for years. Hearing her name now, he felt surprisingly little resentment. Three years had softened the blow.

Maintaining composure, Iker asked, "What do you want? What is your purpose?"

Kelvin explained, "I need Master Iker's help. You can name your price."

The Foley family was a powerful force. Iker found this request unusual.

Kelvin continued, "I hear the President possesses a Rejuvenated Herb. I want Master Iker to introduce me. The conditions are negotiable."

Hidden on the second-floor landing, Cheyenne overheard. She was still stunned by Kelvin’s audacity.

A servant, carrying cleaning supplies, discovered Cheyenne. Her presence became immediately apparent. A jolt of shock, then a rush of panic, swept through her.

Kelvin's icy gaze pierced her. She was in the black maid's outfit, her figure strikingly highlighted by the simple garment. Her beauty was undeniable.

Kelvin, acutely aware of Cheyenne's figure, was taken aback.

Iker calmly instructed, "Miss Lawrence, come here."

As Cheyenne approached, Kelvin noticed she smelled of Iker's cologne, her hair still slightly damp. His gaze grew colder; he suspected something had transpired between them.
