Chapter 126
โThis is the dorm room building. Itโs co-op, so everyone will be in the same building. Instead of organizing us by gender, they organize us by year. But they do it backwards. First years are on the top floor.โ Clint looked back and smiled. โThe elevator has been out forโฆ well Iโve been here for three years already, and it was out for years before me.โ He laughed. โThe stairs are over here.โ He brought us over to the main staircase and headed up.
โWhat program are you in?โ I followed him up the five flights of stairs.
โI wanted to go into business, like most Alphas and Betas, to help strengthen the packโs standing.โ I nodded.
โYeah. A lot of packs fall into that line of thinking.โ I tried to hedge my bet, but Clint laughed.
โYeah, you sound like my father.โ He looked back at me with a smile as he turned to the last flight of stairs. โHe pushed me into computer science. Said it was the new way to protect the pack, and potentially make money.โ
I reeled. โMy father gave me the same push.โ Clint met my eye as he made it to the landing and turned around with his hand out. I furrowed my brow. โI need your papers.โ
I handed him everything. โHeโs a smart man. This entire program teaches us how to structure security systems, how to program and create apps that the humans use. Anything is possible with this program, and only our packs benefit from it.โ
I nodded. โExactly.โ He nodded down the hallway, and we followed. โAny pointers you can give me?โ
โA ton. But if I have to be honest, the only one that would make any difference would be to go to every class.โ He chuckled. โYou miss one day, and you are completely lost. You learn so much every single class here.โ
โGot it.โ He headed down the hallway, looking down at one of my papers.
โHere you are. Alpha room, single with own bathroom.โ He whistled and wiggled his eyebrows. โFancy. Not many get this kind of treatment.โ
My mom jumped in. โI requested it. Sometimes Amyโs wolfโฆโ
โI just started shifting, and my wolf is bigger than most. And very territorial,โ I finished, causing my mother to laugh.
โShe found out her step-sister was borrowing her clothes. She washed everything with descenting spray, had her carpets cleaned, replaced her bed completely, and changed her routine.โ Clintโs eyes widened as my mother nodded.
โOkay then. That checks out.โ He smiled, and he pointed to the knob. โI assume you have your key?โ
I nodded and opened the room. We walked in and checked everything out. The room was white, bare, and boring. On the left-hand side, there was a door, then a desk. On the far wall, there was a single bed, and on the right-hand side, there was a double sliding door. I slid the door open to reveal a closet that had a built-in dresser on one side and room to hang things on the other.
I turned back to the door on the left and opened the bathroom. It was clean, with a small vanity, shower, and toilet. There was a shelf over the toilet to hold extra toiletries. It was nice, but I noticed there was no bathmat, no shower curtain, no towels. โItโs empty.โ
โYeah, bring everything. Itโs listed on the papers, but they miss things.โ He slid a pen out of his pocket and wrote a few things on the list to bring. โMake sure you bring everything on this list. Or else you will be scrambling.โ
I nodded as I closed the door. I looked at my mother as she took back the list of things to bring and sighed. โWe just did all that shopping for your room, and now we have to do it again.โ
Chapter 126
I laughed. โItโs okay. I can just take most of the stuff from home.โ
She shook her head. โThe whole point is that you can stay here or at home, not one or the other, and hauling all this stuff back and forth isnโt practical.โ She looked down the list and back up at me. โWe will go shopping tomorrow.โ I just nodded.
โLetโs head to your classes. I luckily know where all of them are, and it wonโt take long.โ
โHey, I had a question,โ I started as we closed up my room.
โSure, shoot.โ
โWho is the unnamed professor?โ
Clint threw back his head and laughed. โAinโt no way I am telling you that.โ
โWhy not?โ I shot him a glare.
โFirst, because I canโt. Heโs an alpha and commanded our silence. But even if I could, I wouldnโt. That is a surprise worth finding out on your own.โ
I groaned as his laughter rang down the corridor.
