Chapter 128

โ€œYou act like I am some kind of disease.โ€ Shannon shot to her feet.

โ€œTo me, to Nix, you are.โ€ I snarled. โ€œI donโ€™t think you understand. So let me break it down for you. You know how you feel about Brandon, how heโ€™s yours?โ€ I waited, staring at her face, and watched as the possessiveness took over.

โ€œYes,โ€ she bit out.

โ€œHow you feel like no one should ever touch him, be near him, flirt with him? Right? Like you would kill anyone that tried to take him.โ€ I stared at her again, waiting.

โ€œYes.โ€

โ€œWell, I feel that way about my stuff. My room. My safe space. And you violated it to get laid.โ€ I stood, and I could feel my anger rising. โ€œYou are weaker than me, lower than me, and an all-around shitty fucking person. But you thought you had the right to MY stuff. You went into my room and used my things, the things I got from my mother, from my father, for myself. And you used them to trap a wolf that isnโ€™t yours.โ€ Nix came closer to the surface. I felt my eyes shift, my fur flow down my arms, and my claws came out. โ€œDo you know what that does to me?โ€

Shannon paled. She shook her head back and forth and cowered. โ€œIโ€ฆ Iโ€ฆ I donโ€™t know.โ€

โ€œYou know.โ€ I screamed, โ€œYou feel the same way about Brandon.โ€ I stepped toward her and Morgan stood up with his arms raised in surrender.

โ€œAmy, please.โ€

โ€œA beta has some nesting instinct.โ€ I glared at him. โ€œHow would you feel if someone went into your room, stole your shit, and then strutted around acting like you owed them? Knowing that they arenโ€™t even fucking ranked?โ€

Morgan swallowed and then nodded. โ€œIโ€™d hate it.โ€

โ€œExactly.โ€ I flung my hands up. โ€œSo ask me again why I need a dorm.โ€ Morgan met my eyes and looked away. โ€œI said ask me.โ€

โ€œWhy do you need a dorm?โ€

โ€œSo I have a place away from your pathetic daughter, where she canโ€™t get in, where my wolf can feel like her space isnโ€™t invaded, so we donโ€™t do anything stupid, like fucking kill her.โ€ My eyes flashed and Shannon cowered again.

Morgan nodded. โ€œIt seems like it is a smart decision.โ€

My mother looked back and forth between me and them. โ€œI think, for the sake of peace, you should stay at your dorm for the first little while, until Nix calms down a bit.โ€ She reached her hand out to me and shook her head. โ€œBabyโ€ฆ But nowโ€ฆโ€ She rubbed her thumb over my hand. โ€œYou are killing someone who doesnโ€™t matter.โ€ Shannon scoffed.

โ€œWould that be alright Amy?โ€ Morgan asked quietly.

โ€œYou want me to stay on campus?โ€ I glared.

I just think, for the safety of everyone involvedโ€ฆโ€

Safety fight? And it has nothing to do with getting me at yourself. These things used to roll off your back.

My mother just smirked.

The smart decision.

Chapter 128 My mother threw her head back and laughed. โ€œAmy.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s true,โ€ I shot back.

โ€œEven if it was true,โ€ my mother started and pulled me back down to the chair. โ€œIt doesnโ€™t matter. The ship sailed.โ€ She looked to Morgan, and I watched the life, the love, drain out of them. โ€œI donโ€™t know how often I have to say it to get it through your thick heads, but I am no longer your wife, your stepmother, your chef, or your maid. We live together, but thatโ€™s all there is.โ€

โ€œAinsley,โ€ Morgan tried to take a step, but she growled.

โ€œFine.โ€ I settled back in the chair. โ€œIโ€™ll stay in the dorm.โ€

โ€œFine.โ€ Morgan settled back down beside Shannon.

โ€œCan I go now?โ€

Morgan was about to nod, but Shannon grabbed his arm. โ€œThe food card, Daddy.โ€

He huffed out a breath and rolled his eyes. โ€œShannon, be reasonable.โ€ He looked at her, but she screamed and got to her feet.

โ€œSee!โ€ She pointed at me. โ€œShe gets everything. The rank, the money, the alphas. Everything, and I get NOTHING.โ€ She screamed. โ€œShe gets a hundred thousand on a FOOD CARD. Are you kidding me?โ€ She whirled on me. โ€œWhy do you even need that much money anyway?โ€

I looked her dead in the eyes. โ€œI might want to buy something.โ€ I shrugged.

โ€œI have nothing on my food card!โ€ She broke down into tears.

โ€œWell, thatโ€™s not true.โ€ I leaned forward. โ€œI just paid like four million to ensure every student enlisted had at least ten thousand on their cards.โ€
