Chapter 164

I didnโ€™t realize that everyone was staring at me until I disconnected the call. I turned back to everyone and just huffed out a breath. โ€œKeep checking everyone in.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s too late,โ€ Wendy was almost in tears.

โ€œNo. This king will handle it.โ€ I was certain of that.

โ€œAre you sure?โ€ Hanna grabbed my hand, and I nodded.

โ€œI am.โ€ So we all turned back and kept checking people in.

โ€œAlpha Amy?โ€ Someone we checked in called back to us.

โ€œYes.โ€

โ€œThe doors are locked.โ€ Everyone froze, and then one girl started to sob.

โ€œPlease. Everyone.โ€ I raised my hands, waving the tablet in my hand. โ€œI swear to you that you will not be expelled.โ€

โ€œYou canโ€™t promise that,โ€ someone called out, and the room erupted into crying.

โ€œListen.โ€ I raised my hands. โ€œThere is very little I promise, as I can never guarantee the future. But I swear to you that no one will be expelled.โ€

Toya stepped up next to me. โ€œAmy is correct. We wonโ€™t allow this to go unchecked.โ€ Toya shook her head.

We finished checking everyone in, and we waited. I went to the door and pounded on it, then waited some more. I then called my father. โ€œDaddy?โ€

โ€œHey pup. Whatโ€™s wrong?โ€

โ€œVince.โ€ It was my only answer before his growl sounded loudly through the speaker.

โ€œWhat has he done?โ€

โ€œExpelled me. Well, me and about a hundred and fifty others. He targeted unranked wolves. I called Rowan, and I know he is handling it, but I was hoping you can put some pressure on the council.โ€

โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€

โ€œToya, daughter of theโ€ฆโ€ I trailed off and looked to her, and she smiled.

โ€œLightstone pack.โ€

โ€œToya, the daughter of the Lightstone alpha, has also been expelled because of his idiotic rules. Can you call the council and threaten to pull funding from the school and also the council?โ€

I heard an intake of breath, but my father howled in laughter. โ€œSmart pup. Smart.โ€ I heard him pick up the office phone. He was silent for a few seconds before he called out, โ€œCouncil member Alpha Theo, please.โ€ There was another break as I waited to hear anything. โ€œCouncilman Theo, thank you for taking my call. Yes, yes, you are very welcome for the funding I sent for the third quarter. That is exactly one reason I called.โ€ There was a pause with a muffled voice on the other line.

โ€œDaddy, I canโ€™t hear.โ€ There was a click, and the councilmanโ€™s voice came from the speaker.

โ€œWhat can I help you with, Alpha Gavin?โ€

Chapter 161

โ€œI heard the council and the king are at Lycus University today to deliver the information that the alphas have decided upon.โ€

โ€œYes, we are. The assembly is about to start.โ€

โ€œWell, it better not start until all the students are accounted for.โ€ There was a threat in my fatherโ€™s voice, and I heard the man gulp.

โ€œWhat ever do you mean?โ€

โ€œDo not play dumb, Theo. I know there are over a hundred and fifty kids that are outside the auditorium. I also know Vince threatened to expel them.โ€

โ€œGavinโ€ฆit isnโ€™t like that. They were given a timeline.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m going to make this fucking simple, Theo. Open those fucking doors, or I pull all of my funding. The funding for the school, for the council, and all the bullshit I support.โ€

โ€œYou canโ€™t mean thatโ€ฆโ€

โ€œOh, I do.โ€ My fatherโ€™s voice dropped low. โ€œMy daughter is out there, and so is the daughter of the Lightstone pack.โ€

โ€œThey were supposed to be inside.โ€

My father paused, and his voice dropped even lower. โ€œIโ€™m going to make this very simple, Theo. I know you arenโ€™t dumb enough to work with Vince to expel unranked wolves because of your fucking prejudice. I know you arenโ€™t stupid enough to lose the four-point-seven billion dollars I donate per year. And I know you arenโ€™t dumb enough to be moving against the Lycan king behind our backs.โ€ The line grew silent.

โ€œThe king just came into the room. I have to go.โ€ But before he could hang up the phone, I heard Rowanโ€™s voice boom,

โ€œWhat the fuck do you think you are doing here? Get those fucking doors open now before I kill every one of you for treason and rebellion.โ€ There were gasps around the room, and someone started stammering. โ€œYou do not get to expel anyone from this school. You are the fucking dean that oversees the everyday happenings around here, but the decisions are mine to make, and mine alone.โ€ Then there was a sound as if his hands were hitting the table. โ€œNow let me remind you that you are my council, but you do not fucking make decisions either. You counsel me, but again I decide. What you are doing is treason, and I will handle it as I see fit, unless you fucking open doors and let those wolves in.โ€ His voice dropped lower. โ€œNow.โ€
