Listen to this chapter:

"Yeah, what's up?"

Gwenda, already in her nightdress, stood with her fair, slim legs exposed. Water dripped from her hair, leaving her cheeks pink from the shower. She looked like an actress emerging from a shower scene.

Olivier's eyes darkened; he swallowed hard. "My bathroom light is out," he said, "so I can't shower. It's too late to fix it. Could I use yours?"

"This" Gwenda hesitated, wanting to refuse.

Olivier added quickly, "It's not convenient to go to Granny's or Wendy's."

"It's not convenient for you to be here, either" Gwenda muttered.

"Your room is the most suitable," Olivier stated firmly.

Gwenda remained silent.

"May I?" he asked sincerely, as if genuinely needing to shower.

After a moment's hesitation, Gwenda, sensing his sincerity, nodded. "Okay, I'll get my clothes."

Olivier, preventing her from changing her mind, returned to his room. Alone, Gwenda realized what she'd done. She facepalmed, speechless. Had she gone mad? She'd let a man interested in her shower in her room! Did that mean she'd agreed to a relationship? This

Anxiety overwhelmed Gwenda. A knock sounded. Nervously, she opened the door.

"Can I come in?"

"Yes," Gwenda nodded, stepping aside.

"I'll be in the bathroom," Olivier said, brushing past her with his fresh clothes. Gwenda felt the warmth of his body.

She pursed her lips. "Er, it's a little stuffy in here. I'll go for a walk to cool down."

As she started to leave, Olivier grabbed her arm. A small smile played on his lips. "Getting shy?"

"N-no!" Gwenda's eyes flickered with anxiety. "Why would I be?"

"I'm just showering. What are you thinking about?" His smile held a hint of playfulness.

"Nothing. Let go, I really need some air." She felt flushed.

Olivier released her, his gaze falling on her wet hair. "Are you sure you want to go out with wet hair? You'll get a headache." Gwenda realized her hair was still damp. She was trapped.

Olivier's sharp eyes saw her predicament; he chuckled. "Relax, I'm not going to do anything."

"As if you dare," she retorted.

"Uh-huh. So, you can relax now?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

With no excuse to leave, Gwenda took a deep breath. "Hurry up. I'll blow-dry my hair."

"Okay." A fleeting dark gleam flashed in Olivier's eyes, unnoticed by Gwenda. His lips curved slightly as he entered the bathroom.

Soon, the sound of running water filled the room. Gwenda, anxious, blow-dried her hair absentmindedly, nearly burning herself several times.

Finally, her hair was dry. She'd just put down the dryer when Olivier called from the bathroom. "Gwenda"
