Listen to this chapter:

"Olivier, do you have time for dinner tonight? I warmly invite you"

That evening, after finishing work at the studio, Gwenda joined Karter and the others at a restaurant. They typically chose secluded locations when dining with celebrities, so Karter had selected a private room. After they were seated, Karter introduced the restaurant: "I've been coming here for a few years. It's very discreet; you can dine in peace. However, I'm not sure if you'll like the food."

The waiter brought menus. Gwenda scanned hers. "Looks good. It must be delicious."

Eloise quipped, "It can't be that bad if someone as picky as you has dined here for years."

Karter chuckled. "Then order whatever you like. Dinner's on me."

"Then I won't stand on ceremony," Gwenda said, smiling as she began to read the menu. Then, pausing, she asked, "Didn't you say a friend was joining us?"

"Oh, we don't need to wait for her. Just order," Karter replied.

Just as he finished speaking, there was a knock, followed by the door opening. "Karter Hogan, I heard you at the door. Am I not important enough for you to wait? How could you say that?" A feminine voice cut through the air.

A beautiful woman entered—Jazlyn Mejia. Everyone looked up, stunned.

"Jazlyn Mejia?" Gwenda exclaimed, shocked that Karter would introduce such a famous actress.

Karter, unaware that Gwenda and Jazlyn had previously seen each other's pictures, stood and introduced them enthusiastically. "Everyone, this is my good friend, Jazlyn Mejia."

Jazlyn greeted everyone, her gaze lingering on Gwenda. This was their first in-person meeting. She discreetly studied Gwenda before extending her hand gracefully. "Miss Evans, I've heard so much about you. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Hello," Gwenda replied, sighing inwardly. She'd only ever seen Jazlyn on TV before, and even her on-screen beauty was surpassed in person. Jazlyn also seemed kind and likable.

"Let's not stand on ceremony," Karter said. "Have a seat."

Jazlyn declined, saying, "Let's wait a bit. A friend is coming."

Karter raised an eyebrow. Before he could ask for details, the door opened again. Jazlyn smiled and greeted the newcomer, "You're here."

Everyone turned to see a tall figure enter. Gwenda initially didn't care, but upon seeing the man, she froze.

Jazlyn, arm-in-arm with the man, announced, "This is my friend, Olivier Petit." Their closeness was evident.

Olivier, believing his cousin was taking him to dinner out of boredom, was surprised to find a room full of strangers—including Gwenda, the woman he longed for. For a moment, time seemed to stand still.
