Listen to this chapter:

Gwenda stopped and turned to look at him. "What's the matter?"

"What's with your attitude? Do I have to have a reason to speak to you?" Benson glared at her, his tone unfriendly.

Gwenda rolled her eyes internally. "If there was nothing, why did you call me?"

"You"

"Oh, Benson, be nice," Pauline interrupted, smiling at Gwenda. "Gwenda, your dad just wants to know what happened with your aunt."

"I'm talking to my dad, not you! Mind your own business!" Gwenda glared at Pauline.

Benson was instantly enraged. He gritted his teeth. "You bastard! Say that again?!"

"What? Want to beat me at Grandma's birthday party?" Gwenda said coolly, giving him a cold look.

"You" Benson's chest heaved with rage.

"If there's nothing else, I'm leaving."

"You stop right there!" Benson approached her. "Why did you call the police when your aunt visited?"

"She made a scene in my studio. Is that not normal?" Gwenda retorted coldly.

"She's your aunt!!" Benson spluttered. "You've made a spectacle of this! Our family is disgraced because of you!"

"Oh, Dad, you're hilarious," Gwenda sneered. "Speaking of disgrace, shouldn't that be Aunt Arely? How does this involve me? Would I have called the police if she hadn't caused a scene? Even if I did, would anyone know if she hadn't publicized it? She's at fault. Why are you yelling at me?"

"Oh, you're the reasonable one now?" Benson's face was red with fury.

"I'm refuting your accusations because I'm being reasonable. If you're so concerned about disgrace, control your sister and wife. Keep them quiet."

"You" Benson raised his hand to slap her.

Gwenda dodged instinctively. August stepped in front of her, his hand gripping Benson's wrist.

"It's Grandma's 80th birthday, Uncle. Are you trying to embarrass her by lecturing Gwenda?"

"You"

"Gwenda, Grandma's calling you," August said, giving her a look.

Gwenda understood and walked away. August released Benson's wrist. "Uncle, no matter how unruly Gwenda is, she's Grandma's favorite. Choose a better time to lecture her."

"So, even you dare lecture me?" Benson's face darkened.

August chuckled. "Not at all. Gwenda is a Reed as well as an Evans. You can't just hit or shout at her. Besides, I heard she moved out. Shouldn't you reflect on your behavior as a father?"

"You"

"I have things to do. Enjoy the feast." August left.

The excessive use of "You" has been removed for better flow. The dialogue is more natural and the narrative is tightened. The final section with the many "You"s is slightly more dramatic in the original, so a few have been left. The profanity has been removed.
