Soon, a reply arrived: "I've got an appointment this afternoon."

Olivier texted back, "Tonight then."

"Okay."

Putting down his phone, Olivier said, "To the company."

Meanwhile, in the Reed mansion's dining hall, Gwenda put down her phone after replying to Olivier's text.

Suzanne chuckled. "Texting so early, dear?"

"A friend," Gwenda replied vaguely.

"Friend? Which friend?" Suzanne rarely asked follow-up questions.

Concentrating on her oatmeal, Gwenda muttered, "Just an ordinary friend."

"Is it Mr. Petit?" August interjected.

Gwenda glared at him. August smirked playfully.

Suzanne raised an eyebrow. "What Mr. Petit? Does Gwenda have a boyfriend?"

"I don't," Gwenda denied immediately. "Grandma, don't listen to August's bullshit. I'm single."

"She's single," August added, "but he's wooing her."

Gwenda kicked him under the table.

Hissing, August glared. "Do you have a death wish?!"

"Shut up!"

Suzanne laughed. "Ah, so someone is wooing Gwenda! Tell me, what's he like? What does he look like? What's his family background?"

"Grandma" Gwenda blushed, lowering her head.

Suzanne teased, "It's alright! I can do a background check."

Gwenda's face was crimson. She bit her lip, silent.

Seeing Gwenda's reluctance, Suzanne turned to August. "You tell me."

"Ugh, it's better if she tells you herself, Grandmother. I'd rather not get kicked again."

Suzanne glanced between them, sighing. "Never mind. I won't meddle. But Gwenda, always investigate anyone pursuing you. It'll save you trouble later."

"I understand, Grandma."

"Alright, enough about that. You have lunch with Piper today, yes?"

"Yes, she invited me early this morning and said she'd send a car."

"Good. You can come back afterward, or visit another time."

"Okay, Grandma."

After breakfast, the Kinneys' car arrived around noon. Gwenda left the mansion, and the driver took her to the restaurant. They arrived about ten minutes later.

Piper greeted Gwenda warmly. "Gwenda, you're finally here!"

"Sorry I'm late."

"They've arrived too. Let's go inside."

Inside the private room, several people sat at the table. Gwenda saw Tyrell and his children (whom she'd met the previous day), along with an unknown man and woman.

Piper introduced Gwenda. "This is Gwenda Evans, Madam Suzanne's granddaughter."

Gwenda greeted them politely. Piper introduced the woman: "This is my daughter-in-law, Imani Kinney, née Cline."

"Hello, Mrs. Kinney," Gwenda said.

"Oh, please, call me Imani. I heard about last night this morning. How frightful! Thank you so much, Miss Evans."

"Don't mention it. Call me Gwenda."

Piper led Gwenda to Samuel. "This is my youngest son, Samuel Kinney."

Gwenda smiled faintly at Samuel. He raised an eyebrow, observing his mother's expression, and immediately understood the situation.
