Alisha lowered her head. Gwenda patted her shoulder. "It's okay. As your boss, I won't let you be bullied." She squatted, took out her phone, and photographed the broken glass. "Ms. Robinson, is your cup limited edition?"
"Yes," Tia said arrogantly, crossing her arms. "It's designed by a famous designer. You can't buy it, even if you have money."
"How do you want us to make amends?" Gwenda asked, standing and looking up at Tia.
"I want the exact same one!" Tia insisted. "My cup was precious. It's broken, and I can't replace it. Find an identical one."
"Ms. Robinson, you're making this difficult," Gwenda said calmly. "You said it's no longer in production. Finding an identical one is impossible. How about this: name a price, and we'll reimburse you. What do you think?"
"Are you kidding me? Do I look like I need money?" Tia snorted. "Like I said, I want an identical one, or this isn't over!"
The director and producer, having been alerted, arrived. Despite their attempts at mediation, they couldn't reach a resolution. Tia's language grew increasingly unpleasant and insulting.
Finally, Gwenda snapped. "Ms. Robinson, if you hadn't asked Alisha to serve you tea, this wouldn't have happened. You're equally responsible!"
"What?" Tia glared. "You dare blame me?"
"I'm not wrong. As a senior in the industry, you have assistants and agents. You didn't need another artist to serve you. You were clearly making things difficult for Alisha!" Tia pointed at them. "So what? I was. What are you going to do?"
"We can't do anything, but your reputation will suffer if this gets out."
"Are you threatening me?"
"No, how could I?"
"Humph! I'm not afraid of you! You have to replace this cup, or I'll call the police! Let's see who suffers then!"
Tia's arrogant tone frightened Alisha. She tugged at Gwenda's clothes, whispering, "Gwenda, forget it. I'll admit my mistake. This isn't your fault."
"Alisha, stop it!" Gwenda patted Alisha's hand. "I'll handle this."
"But"
"Trust me." Gwenda looked at Tia. "Okay, I'll replace it. Give me some time. I'll find an identical one."
"Don't fool me! Can you even do that?" Tia sneered.
"Believe it or not, I will," Gwenda retorted coldly.
Seeing Gwenda's confidence, Tia said, "Three days. Three days to find an identical cup."
"Okay," Gwenda agreed.
"That's it. Get out," Tia said, glancing at them.
Gwenda led Alisha from the dressing room. Alisha apologized profusely on the way back. "Gwenda, it's my fault. I should have been more careful"
"Don't blame yourself. Tia was clearly looking for a fight. Even if you hadn't broken her cup, she would have found another way to make trouble. It's not your fault," Gwenda reassured her.
Alisha felt better. "What do we do now? Can you really find an identical cup?"
"I don't know," Gwenda admitted. "I can only try."
"Gwenda, thank you so much." Alisha's eyes welled up.
"Hey, don't cry. You have a scene later; don't ruin your makeup."
Alisha held back tears. "Gwenda, thank you"
"It's fine. I'll contact people and see who can help find a similar cup." Gwenda turned and left, determined to find the cup.
