Listen to this chapter:

"Gwenda, you don't understand," Hattie said, gazing dreamily at the man on the podium. "A wealthy and popular bachelor like Olivier Petit is bound to attract many women. And a successful guy like him is definitely appealing to all the girls here."

Gwenda glared at her. "Quit fangirling over him!"

Giggling, Hattie asked, "Then, Gwenda, will you still sneak out after taking attendance?"

"Sneak out?" Gwenda scowled, considering the situation. Could she still slip away? "No. But I need to contact the 'The Best Singer' production team later, so I'll have to leave for a bit. You have to cover for me."

"Sure," Hattie replied. They reached an agreement.

Gwenda turned her attention back to Olivier, who was introducing himself. His attractive, low voice resonated pleasantly in the classroom. Staring at him, memories from two months ago flooded her mind. She became so entranced that she didn't notice him approach her desk.

He rapped lightly on her desk and smirked. "Young lady, I can't teach if you're looking at me like that. Please concentrate."

The surrounding students burst out laughing. Gwenda blushed, embarrassed, and glared at him. "Professor, you're teaching. If I don't look at you, where am I supposed to look?"

"How witty," Olivier said, his eyes gleaming with amusement. "That's reasonable. However, I doubt most students drool over their teacher in class, wouldn't you agree?"

Gwenda panicked, wiping the corner of her mouth. Finding nothing there, she realized she'd been tricked again. "Damn it!"

Her classmates laughed. Olivier's eyes flashed with mockery. "Alright, just a joke to liven things up. Let's begin the lecture." He returned to the podium.

Gwenda covered her face, wishing the earth would swallow her whole. Hattie grinned. "Mr. Petit is quite humorous, huh?"

Gwenda sneered. What kind of humor is that? He's a jerk! Toying with me all the time! It's always been like this, and it's infuriating!

Resentful, Gwenda ignored the lecture, playing on her phone. When the lecture ended, her phone buzzed. It was the "The Best Singer" production team. She whispered to Hattie, "I'm taking a call."

"Okay."

With her phone, Gwenda slipped out of the classroom, glancing toward the podium. Olivier's eyes narrowed slightly as he saw her leave.

Outside, Gwenda found a quiet spot and answered the call. She'd followed the show for two months. In her previous life, Cecilia had become viral on short-video platforms, but her position was awkward. She only gained a foothold in the music industry after participating in this show. Therefore, Gwenda contacted the production team in advance, hoping Cecilia would gain a larger audience. They scheduled a preliminary interview.

After hanging up, Gwenda checked the time. Ten minutes remained before the lecture ended; she needed to return quickly. She started to sneak back, but saw Hattie exiting the classroom. "Why did you come out?"
