Listen to this chapter:

Just as she wondered about it, she looked up and saw several KG Entertainment executives entering the hotel housing the restaurant. Gwenda suddenly recalled August's words and had no time to dwell on her thoughts. She rushed over, grabbed her cousin's arm, and said, "August, I'll eat with you; let's go."

"Didn't you say you were leaving?" August asked coldly, raising his eyebrows.

Gwenda smiled sheepishly, rubbed her nose, chuckled awkwardly, and said, "I didn't mean it. I was angry. You're the bigger person; how could you be mad at a brat like me?" She patted his chest fawningly.

August smacked her hand away in disgust. "Are you done?"

"You're the best, August! Please calm down," Gwenda continued, acting like a spoiled child.

"Hurry up and get inside!" August rolled his eyes and walked into the hotel.

"Right," Gwenda replied, following him with a smile.

Near the door, the window of a black Audi rolled down. Olivier, inside the car, had clearly seen Gwenda fawning over August. His eyes grew cold, a frown deepening between his brows.

Otto, the driver, was puzzled. He'd expected Olivier to exit the car. "Boss, what's wrong?" he asked.

Olivier's face was thunderous. Without responding, he got out of the car and left. Otto froze, then scrambled after him. "Sir, wait for me!"

In a private room, the KG Entertainment executives watched August bring in a young woman, confusion evident on their faces. "Mr. Reed, may we know who this is?" one asked.

"My sister," August explained simply. "She just finished classes and had nowhere to eat, so I brought her."

The executives nodded. Unaware of Gwenda's true identity and having never seen her before, they believed him.

"Oh, your sister. She's lovely," one executive said.

"Hello, everyone," Gwenda greeted them before sitting next to August. She tried to appear inconspicuous, acting like an unassuming university student.

The executives paid her little attention, immediately engaging in conversation with August about business. Gwenda, though seemingly inattentive, listened diligently.

She learned that KG Entertainment had suffered significant losses after Lan's scandal, leading them to target an endorsement deal with Reed Corporation to mitigate the impact.

Jason Wright, a senior executive, spoke, flattering August. "Mr. Reed, you and Mr. Evans are relatives. This endorsement is vital to us. We hope you'll consider helping us."

August gently swirled his wine. A faint smile touched his lips. "Since you're so straightforward, I won't beat around the bush. Who from KG Entertainment will handle this endorsement?"

"Well…" Jason paused. "It's one of our artists, Lina Wood."

"Lina Wood?" August's eyes gleamed with amusement. "That third-rate singer who relies on one song for her career?"

Jason and the other executives looked upset. Gwenda smiled faintly. Her cousin's sharp tongue was legendary; average people were no match for him. The executives' expressions were undoubtedly priceless.
