Gwenda raised an eyebrow. "The questions I asked were traps," she said with certainty. "But I didn't think you'd fall for them."
"No! You're outrageous! How can you decide if I'm Cecilia's fan based on a few questions?" The man roared angrily.
Gwenda gazed at him impassively. "We checked. You don't have a fan club membership, and you don't know Cecilia. Therefore, we conclude you were never a fan."
""
The man panicked. "No! That's bullshit! I am Cecilia's fan!"
"It doesn't matter if you admit it or not," Gwenda said, her tone turning cold. "We've determined you're not a fan. Your actions have severely damaged Cecilia's interests. We'll file a lawsuit."
"You want to sue me?" The man's face paled.
"Yes. Even if Lina lets you off, we won't. Expect a lawyer's letter."
Gwenda stood abruptly and left. The man slumped in his chair, his face ashen.
Leaving the police station, Gwenda sighed in relief. Turning to Hattie, she instructed, "Head back to the studio and sort out the recordings. Post them online, and get a lawyer to draft a letter."
"Alright, Gwenda. I'll do it."
That night, the recording, M Studio's statement, and the lawyer's letter were posted online, causing an uproar in the media. Cecilia's supporters and fans rallied, attacking Madeleine and Lina's Twitter accounts.
Comments included:
- "Don't miss this! See how this shameless manager covers up!"
- "She's talentless and seeks fame through sensationalism. Disgusting!"
- "How can you preach conscience when yours is nonexistent?"
- "Well done! Everyone knows your dirty tricks. Apologize!"
- "Lina Wood's a bitch! She framed Cecilia! She's got to flop!"
- "Where are Lina's troll fans? Face us!"
Cecilia gained followers as people expressed support and comfort online. Her popularity surged.
Meanwhile, chaos erupted in KG Entertainment's CEO office.
"You're all useless f*ckers!" Benson raged. Lina and Madeleine trembled; Jason hung his head.
Benson, hands on his hips, bellowed, "Did I hire you to create problems? You can't even handle Cecilia Kelly! How dare you?" Lina almost cried.
Benson glared. "Are you crying? You have the audacity to cry?"
"Mr. Evans, it's not Lina's fault," Jason interjected.
Benson laughed furiously. "Yes, it's not her fault because you recommended her! This is all on you!"
Jason was speechless. "It sounded like a good idea, and we spent all our resources on her. Now we've lost everything!" Benson slammed his hand on the table, scattering documents. The others cowered.
After a while, Benson calmed down. "Ban Lina Wood immediately! I never want to see her again!" Lina collapsed. "No, Mr. Evans, please"
"Security! Get her out!" Benson ordered, ignoring her pleas as security dragged her away.
Madeleine trembled; Jason paled.
"Your salaries are halved, and your bonuses are deducted!" Benson grumbled, jabbing a finger at them.
"Yes, sir," they replied, not daring to object.
"Get out."
Madeleine left, but Jason remained. "Mr. Evans, I have something to report."
"What else?" Benson's temples throbbed. His tone was unpleasant.
Jason said, "It's about Miss Evans. I discovered M Studio is connected to her; she's Cecilia's manager."
"What?" Benson's blood pressure spiked. ☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
