Chapter 1055: Hard to Ascend the World Mountain

If two cultivators formed a team, each could utilize their cultivation essence to create a force field. This force field would shift in response to space wind blades, allowing them to avoid them preemptively. Simultaneously, one must maintain a spirit sense range of exactly 30 kilometers. Within this range, spirit sense is highly sensitive; its dissipation indicates an approaching space chaos flow, necessitating a change in direction.

Ye Mo understood why others traversed this area so quicklyโ€”their collective experience, accumulated by large sects. Guo Qifan, lacking this knowledge, faced certain death. Yi Pandie's jade slip mentioned something of extreme value ahead. Ye Mo, however, had his own objective: the World Mountain. Its location was neither directly opposing nor aligned with the others' path.

Yi Pandie felt remorse for her previous misunderstanding of Ye Mo. Observing his cautious, painstaking progress, she recognized him as a solo cultivator lacking the means to evade space wind blades and chaos flows. His survival, despite this, earned her a degree of respect. Unable to publicly apologize, she offered him the jade slipโ€”sufficient, she believed, to compensate for her error.

Yet, upon discovering Ye Mo's independent course, Yi Pandie sneered, deeming his choice a rejection of her goodwill. She had pointed him toward valuable treasures, yet he seemingly doubted her and chose another route.

Using the jade slip's information, Ye Mo maintained a 30-kilometer spirit sense range. After traversing several hundred kilometers, he found this method nearly infallible in avoiding space chaos flows, significantly increasing his speed. He could also sense and easily evade space wind blades. His progress soon surpassed Ling Xiaoshuang and the others twofold.

Days later, though free from wind blades and chaos flows, intense black lightning became a formidable obstacle. Despite his lightning spirit root, ability to absorb lightning, and half-cultivation artifact armor, the continuous barrage left him wounded, forcing him to slow down. Others would have perished many times over. Even Hollow Spirit or Body Condensation state cultivators could not withstand this lightning. The forbidden grounds remained lethal, even without the chaos flows.

On the eleventh day, Ye Mo sighted the World Mountain: a colossal, black mountain, seemingly lifeless, yet seemingly the source of all life within the forbidden grounds. Black lightning emanated from it, illuminating the entire region. The mountain's immense power was undeniable.

The closer he approached, the more intense the lightning became. Ye Mo feared annihilation before even reaching the base. He wryly mused that "Lightning Mountain" would be a more appropriate name. His spirit sense couldn't reach the summit, leaving the presence of the bitter bamboo uncertain, but he was determined to proceed.

The sheer volume of black lightning presented an insurmountable challenge. Even his lightning spirit root offered little hope. He considered a lightning attraction formation as his only recourse.

With no other viable option, Ye Mo expended almost all his materials (except those reserved for a flying artifact) creating formation flags. Working tirelessly for five days within the Golden Page World, he began constructing the formation, designed to divert lightning strikes, allowing him safe passage.

Days later, a massive lightning attraction formation stood far from the World Mountain, modified to prevent internal explosions that would destroy even high-level formations. Nearly a month had passed since entering the Truth Fall Palace forbidden grounds, yet he still hadn't reached the mountain, enduring repeated strikes while setting up the formation.

Finally, the formation was complete. Ye Mo mused that channeling this lightning could create the world's most powerful power station. Success, however, remained uncertain; failure would mean wasted time and materials.

He launched the first formation flag, drawing a black lightning bolt into the distant formation with a resounding explosion. Observing the formation's integrity, he continued, diverting more bolts.

The World Mountain's lightning was relentless; he still suffered strikes, though his life was no longer threatened. However, the formationโ€™s stability weakened. It couldn't indefinitely absorb such immense energy. Speed was paramount; its destruction would eliminate his only chance.

Ye Mo continued deploying flags, utilizing the Three Birth Chant to the max, running as he went. Huge mushroom clouds billowed from the overloaded formation. His power increased as he devoured the lightning, but the intensity of the lightning striking him grew as well. He worked ever faster, fearing incineration.

Finally, with a colossal, echoing explosion heard even at the World Mountain, the lightning attraction formation was destroyed. Before he could react, a torrent of black lightning descended.
