Chapter 1136: Mo Yue City’s Ye Mo

Ye Mo’s spirit sense couldn’t penetrate the building, yet no one emerged. This reassured him. He wasn’t afraid of just two Hollow Spirit cultivators.

Removing his face mask, Ye Mo said coldly, “Mo Yue City’s Ye Mo. I’m here to kill Infinity Sect trash.”

Before they could respond, Zi Xu attacked again. Simultaneously, Ye Mo unleashed Shadowless. His opponents were a Hollow Spirit Stage Four and a Hollow Spirit Stage Seven cultivator. Since Shadowless’s evolution to pure gold, he hadn’t been used in battle.

“It’s you…” the Hollow Spirit Stage Three cultivator’s eyes blazed. He produced an oval-shaped magic artifact. As a Hollow Spirit cultivator, he knew of the sect’s higher-level matters. Yuan Guannan had been killed by this man, and now he stood before him—mercy was impossible.

This was Ye Mo’s first encounter with such a magic artifact; it resembled a… toilet. Two differently colored beams, one black and one red, shot out. Ye Mo’s sword ray dimmed, and Zi Xu nearly slipped from his grasp.

Shaken, Ye Mo summoned a spirit sense sword, retrieving Zi Xu, but he couldn’t maintain the Illusion Cloud Hua Mountain strike.

“Hmm?” The Hollow Spirit Stage Three cultivator was surprised his artifact hadn’t swept away Ye Mo’s “kitchen knife,” then sneered, “To hold onto that thing against my Dual Color Primordial Bag… you have some skill. But you’ll regret killing our Infinity Sect member.”

Ye Mo launched thirteen strikes without waiting for another attack. Heavenly-covering purple sword rays enveloped the Hollow Spirit Stage Seven cultivator, who scoffed, “A mere trick!”

However, Ye Mo’s target was the Hollow Spirit Stage Four. Killing the Stage Seven would take too long; the Stage Four had to die first.

Ye Mo used Illusion Cloud Division, Exert Will, and Formation Kill strikes to restrain the Stage Seven while attacking the Stage Four.

The Hollow Spirit Stage Four released his magic artifact—a sword, aesthetically superior to Ye Mo’s “kitchen knife.” He feared Ye Mo’s previously fatal strike.

Ye Mo’s Illusion Cloud Hua Mountain strike descended. The Stage Four cultivator didn’t fully see the strike, but he understood its power: relentless. Lacking a Dual Color Primordial Bag, he deployed his sword and a black square shield as Zi Xu approached.

The impact was shocking. He hadn’t anticipated Ye Mo’s ambush while fighting his martial brother.

The longsword unleashed a ten-meter white ray, seemingly aimed to bisect Ye Mo and Zi Xu. Ye Mo knew this wasn’t a sword technique but magic arts. He didn't falter.

He unleashed Illusion Cloud Hua Mountain Strike, clashing with the longsword. A screeching sound echoed; purple rays scattered. The white ray vanished, but Zi Xu was halted.

Ye Mo grunted, continuing his attack without retrieving Zi Xu. Desperate, the cultivator used his black square shield.

With a thud, Zi Xu pierced the shield; the cultivator spat blood. The shield’s dark color faded. Before Ye Mo could strike again, the cultivator threw a rune.

The rune exploded, releasing a lightning arc the size of a baby’s arm toward Ye Mo. Ye Mo sneered, ignoring it. He wouldn't even flinch at seven or eight such arcs; even the weakest arc from his Divine Damnation was stronger. This arc could harm a Hollow Spirit Stage Three, but it was useless against him.

The Hollow Spirit Stage Four cultivator stared in shock, witnessing Ye Mo’s seemingly suicidal disregard for the rune.

At that moment, Ye Mo sensed danger, not from the rune, but the Hollow Spirit Stage Seven. He immediately unleashed his octagonal cauldron, prepared to kill one even at the cost of injury.

Zi Xu struck the Hollow Spirit Stage Four, who plummeted to the ground in a bloody mess. Ye Mo spat blood; the octagonal cauldron buzzed loudly, the result of the Stage Seven's ambush.

Ye Mo consumed a pill and coldly regarded the furious Hollow Spirit Stage Seven. He was alone now. Though hastily constructed, his level-four formation might yet be his salvation.

…“City Lord Ye!” Luo Fei cried, her eyes welling.

“Martial Brother Guan, you’re alright! Wonderful!” The two Golden Core disciples rejoiced.

“Gan Liang greets Martial Uncle Jie, Martial Brother Miao, and Martial Sister. Is the Sect Leader unharmed?” Gan Liang bowed to the elder. He’d assumed Ye Mo was at least a Hollow Spirit Peak Stage cultivator to kill the Hollow Spirit Stage Three so readily; he wasn't worried.

“Martial Brother Gan, the Sect Leader… he’s gone. Martial Sister Fei is the new Sect Leader. The Sect Leader instructed us to obey her…” the youngest female disciple said sorrowfully.

Gan Liang’s eyes reddened. He'd joined Sword Valley at a young age; his character and swordsmanship were both taught by the deceased Sect Leader.

“Martial Brother Gan, don’t despair. We must ensure Sword Valley’s prosperity. Let’s not disappoint the Sect Leader,” Luo Fei consoled him.

Gan Liang bowed. “You are the Sect Leader now; you mustn't call me Martial Brother.”

Luo Fei nodded. “Call me Sect Leader Martial Sister; ‘Sect Leader’ is too formal.”

“Martial Brother Gan, did that powerful qian bei accompany you? Who is he?” the youngest disciple asked.

Gan Liang replied respectfully, “Sect Leader Martial Sister knows this qian bei. He is Ye qian bei, the Level Seven Pill King from Pill City, the champion of the Pill King Tournament. Upon learning of the Infinity Sect’s attack, he came with me.”

“It's really Pill King qian bei…” the other Golden Core Stage Six youth was astonished. Ye Mo didn't look much older than them, yet he was a Pill King, capable of instantly killing two Hollow Spirit primary stage cultivators.

“So strong!” the Hollow Spirit elder exclaimed. He could see Ye Mo was only a Hollow Spirit Stage One cultivator, yet he’d instantly slain two and was now facing a Hollow Spirit Stage Seven.

…At that moment, the Hollow Spirit Stage Seven unleashed the Dual Color Primordial Bag again. The black and red rays merged, hurtling toward Ye Mo. Simultaneously, the cultivator charged, fists bared, without employing any magic artifact.

It was a simple punch, yet Ye Mo sensed the air grow turbulent. Instantly, the fist expanded into a nearly two-meter-long hammer.
