Chapter 1205: Two Friends
Bian Fengta shook his head, pointing at Ye Mo. “Teng, this flying magic artifact isn’t mine; it’s Brother Ye Mo’s. He’s a new friend, going to the Lost Soul Ruins, so I’m taking him.”
Teng Yi, who had previously noticed Ye Mo but dismissed him as merely a body condensation state peak stage cultivator, looked at Bian Fengta in confusion. “Er Taa, you didn’t tell him about the situation there?”
Before Bian Fengta could reply, Ye Mo stepped forward, saluting with his fists. “I know the situation, but I have a very important reason to go.”
Teng Yi, impressed, gave Ye Mo a thumbs-up. “Okay, you have courage! You’re Er Taa’s friend, so you’re my friend too. Just call me Teng, like Er Taa.”
Ye Mo perceived Teng Yi’s straightforward nature in contrast to Bian Fengta’s gentler disposition. He found himself connecting with Teng Yi; he wasn't an ordinary person.
“I’m Ye Mo. I’ll call you Teng from now on.” Ye Mo appreciated Teng Yi’s directness. He considered asking Teng Yi about his transformation into human form—whether through a Transformation Pill or divine damnation—but decided the question was too abrupt.
“Okay, then I’ll come with you. But Brother Ye, I think it’s best to just observe from the outside and not go inside,” Teng Yi suggested.
Ye Mo nodded. “Brother Teng is right. If I can’t go in, I won’t be impulsive.”
“Not bad, not bad!” Teng Yi chuckled. “Let’s go now. I haven’t had a good fight today; a trip to the Lost Soul Ruins sounds perfect.”
Ye Mo, however, countered, “We can’t go now. I need to undergo my divine damnation first. It will be safer after I reach the cauldron filling state.”
Bian Fengta immediately cautioned, “Ye Mo, you just reached body condensation state peak stage. It’s unwise to undergo divine damnation immediately. I waited nearly twenty years after reaching peak stage before daring to attempt mine. Cauldron filling state divine damnation is vastly different from body condensation state; one mistake could be fatal.”
Teng Yi’s eyes widened in disbelief. “You just reached body condensation state peak stage, and you want to attempt cauldron filling state divine damnation?” His tone clearly implied it was suicidal.
Before Ye Mo could respond, Bian Fengta added, “You also need a Kun Filling Pill; otherwise, the divine damnation will be…” He continued, “You went from body condensation state level seven to peak stage in four months. That’s incredibly fast, but you lack a solid foundation. Without it, you risk being overwhelmed by heart demons.”
“What?” Teng Yi was utterly shocked. Beast cultivators progressed quickly, but no one was as fast as Ye Mo. He thought it was a joke.
“You went from body condensation state level seven to peak stage in four months?” Teng Yi’s eyes widened further.
Bian Fengta answered for Ye Mo, “That’s right, Teng. I met Ye Mo four months ago. I was being chased by a disaster transformation state cultivator, but Brother Ye saved me. He was body condensation state level seven then, and it’s only been four months. I saw it with my own eyes.”
Ye Mo remained silent, unable to reveal his four years of cultivation within a time formation disk. He simply smiled. “I’m also a pill master; I can concoct supplementary pills. I have a spirit marrow pond, which accelerates my cultivation.”
“Even so, you can’t reach body condensation state peak stage from level seven in four months,” Teng Yi insisted, unconvinced.
Bian Fengta nodded, then stared at Ye Mo with renewed shock. “You can concoct body condensation state pills? Are you a level five pill king, or a level six?” He explained that lower-grade pills required a level five pill king, while higher-grade ones needed a level six.
Ye Mo didn’t hesitate. “I’m a level seven pill king, and I made my own Kun Filling Pills.” He produced a bottle. “These are the Kun Filling Pills I concocted.”
Bian Fengta received the bottle shakily, examining the pills. He murmured, “They’re indeed heaven-grade level seven pills, freshly concocted and spirit range pills…” The ability to create heaven-grade level seven pills of such exceptional quality indicated Ye Mo was on the cusp of becoming an eighth-level pill king.
Bian Fengta gazed at Ye Mo, dazed. “Brother Ye, you’re almost a level eight pill king?”
Ye Mo nodded. “Yes, not yet, but I feel it won’t be long.” He’d collected level eight spirit herbs from the Qu 18 Disks, enough to achieve level eight.
“Huh…” Teng Yi exclaimed. “Ye Mo, you’re really a level seven pill king, about to reach level eight?”
“That’s right, but there’s still some distance to level eight.” Ye Mo was surprised by Teng Yi’s excitement. He'd expected a request for pill concoction, not this level of enthusiasm.
“Great, great Brother Ye, please help me, you must help me!” Teng Yi grasped Ye Mo’s hand, his voice trembling.
Ye Mo was about to agree when Bian Fengta interjected, explaining, “Teng’s father is the Heartless Sea’s rain dragon king, Teng Xiong. His mother’s dan tian was shattered in an attack, and her spirit sense is damaged. Teng heard that the heaven-grade level eight Illusion God Pill can recover spirit sense, so he collected Illusion God Flowers, hoping to find someone to concoct them.”
“Yes, yes, I want to ask you to help me concoct the Illusion God Pill. I have the flowers,” Teng Yi said, producing several Illusion God Flowers.
Ye Mo recognized the herb—he’d obtained one from Lu Wuhu. While it could repair spirit sense, its primary function was soul repair. It wouldn't fully restore Teng Yi’s mother.
Ye Mo said, “Teng, the Illusion God Flower can repair spirit sense, but that’s not its main use. Even if I concoct the pill, your mother won’t fully recover. If you trust me…”
Teng Yi pleaded, “I know, I know. I just want to recover her spirit sense first. Then she can protect herself, and I can search for herbs to repair her dan tian.”
Ye Mo waved his hand. “Teng, let me finish. You don’t need the Illusion God Pill. If you trust me, I can visit your mother. If it’s as you say, I’m confident I can cure her.”
Ye Mo possessed the Season Wheat Pill (for dan tian repair) and the Spirit Recovery Pill (for spirit sense). The Spirit Recovery Pill had no side effects, but the Season Wheat Pill wasn’t a complete solution. He was willing to help Teng, a straightforward and devoted son.
Overjoyed, Teng Yi knelt before Ye Mo. “Brother Ye, you must save my mother! She’s so pitiful, unable to go anywhere. My life goal is to cure her.”
Ye Mo quickly pulled him up. “Teng, don’t worry. Since we’re friends, I won’t let your mother suffer. After my divine damnation, we can go to your home.”
“Huh, you’re really going to undergo divine damnation?” Teng Yi asked worriedly.
Ye Mo patted his shoulder. “Teng, you and Er Taa protect me. Cauldron filling state divine damnation is nothing to me.”
Teng Yi, somewhat reassured, presented a large scale. “This is my defensive magic artifact. Use it for your divine damnation.”
Ye Mo returned it. “I don’t need a defensive artifact. Just watch out for outsiders.”
