Chapter 130: Seeing Metal Nails Once Again

Translator: Tim Editor: Chrissy

“How is Qi Shan?” Four people sat in a seemingly ordinary van, with a young man lying down. The driver asked.

“He might not make it. His face is completely black, and he’s not breathing,” someone replied.

The driver was silent for a moment before saying, “We’ll go to HQ immediately. San Cai, call Brother Lang and tell him the target was too difficult; we lost a brother.”

“Okay…” The youth started to speak, but the driver’s phone rang.

“San Cai, wait, let me answer this.” The driver answered the call. The car slowed to a stop by the roadside.

“Brother Lang, I was just about to call you,” the driver said, realizing it was Lang Ji.

Lang Ji’s grim voice said, “Black Snake, don’t move. Wait for me. I just learned Chi Wanqing is still serving in the military; she’s special ops, very strong. We need a new plan before attacking. I’m on my way to Luo Cang…”

Black Snake was silent for a moment. “Brother Lang, you’re too late. We attacked, and we lost a brother. Chi Wanqing is strong, but Ning Qingxue is stronger. She can easily kick someone several meters. She also has a projectile weapon that’s instantly lethal; the poison is potent.”

Black Snake clearly considered Little Wolf a projectile weapon and still feared it. The five had gone together; he was the leader and driver. He’d planned to abduct Ning Qingxue and Chi Wanqing and leave immediately, but he’d failed and lost a man.

“What…” Lang Ji paused, then said, “Wait for me at HQ. I’ll be there soon.” Lang Ji hadn’t expected this. Not only was Chi Wanqing incredibly strong, but so was Ning Qingxue. He’d been careless. Even Dongfang Xi probably hadn’t anticipated Ning Qingxue’s strength.

Ye Mo was at his new mansion, trying to set up a simple defensive formation. He didn’t have many materials, but a simple formation would solve many problems.

However, upon exiting, he saw a van parked about thirty meters away. Using his spirit sense, he heard Ning Qingxue’s and Chi Wanqing’s names. He also sensed a dead man; the wound indicated Little Wolf’s bite.

Combining this with the phone call, Ye Mo pieced together the story. These people had tried to capture Ning Qingxue and Chi Wanqing. He didn’t know why, but he felt immediate killing intent. He suspected it was related to him.

The van started driving again, and Ye Mo followed without hesitation.

If Lang Ji knew Ye Mo had noticed him because of the call and the van’s proximity to Ye Mo’s residence, he’d be filled with regret. He only knew Ye Mo had relocated, not where. However, Lang Ji believed he could find Ye Mo as long as he was still in Luo Cang.

The van wound through the streets. Ye Mo followed for an hour before it entered a rural manor.

Ye Mo scanned with his spirit sense. Only one person was inside, but he knew something was wrong. As soon as the van arrived, the man went to help carry the dead body.

“A Gen, close the door,” Black Snake ordered as he entered the manor.

“No need, I already did,” a voice interrupted.

Black Snake turned and saw a seemingly ordinary young man at the doorway. The manor was indeed closed.

“Who are you?” Black Snake drew his sword, as did the others, quietly surrounding Ye Mo. He didn’t see any guns.

“I’m Ye Mo. You should know something about me.” Ye Mo wasn’t sure who sent them, but since they’d targeted Ning Qingxue, he guessed the Song family.

“You are Ye Mo…” Black Snake’s heart skipped a beat. He wasn’t a regular gang member; he held some status in Nan Qing. Many in Nan Qing didn’t know Ye Mo, but he did. He knew they were kidnapping Ning Qingxue because of Ye Mo.

He didn’t believe he could beat Ye Mo. He’d heard that of the twenty people who attacked Ye Mo in the desert, none survived, even with guns. He’d heard Lang Ji say Ye Mo seemed stronger since returning.

Now, Ye Mo stood before him, and he was unsure what to do. Though Ye Mo was unarmed and he had five men with swords, he felt naked under Ye Mo’s gaze.

The other five had also heard of Ye Mo and hesitated.

Three of them tried to call for help, but before they could unlock their phones, they were nailed to the ground.

Nails—metal nails again?

Black Snake and the remaining two looked at the foreheads of the fallen men. Blood seeped out, chilling them.

Ye Mo was decisive. He knew these men were from the Song family or Nan Qing; either way, he would kill them.

“You came for me? Or to cause trouble?” Ye Mo asked plainly.

“I…” Black Snake, hardened by countless gang fights, felt himself shaking. He was scared. Someone who’d never known fear felt horror.

Ye Mo wasn’t human—he was a demon.

If a stronger opponent were present, he could charge and fight, even if he died; he'd feel a valiant death. But facing Ye Mo, he lacked the courage. Ye Mo didn’t need a sword; a single metal nail would send Black Snake to the ground like the others. No matter how brave he was, he couldn't change that.

San Cai and A Gen’s faces paled. They’d heard of Ye Mo’s ruthlessness—killing their boss’s son and still roaming free. Even their boss couldn't directly deal with him; he needed to kidnap his women to threaten him. This man was beyond their capabilities.

“Aren’t you going to invite me in?” Ye Mo smiled.

“Yes, please…” Black Snake said dryly. For the first time, he felt such apprehension, such difficulty saying “please.” Even to Brother Lang, he was more casual.

“Mhm, I won’t be polite then.” He casually threw fireballs, turning the four bodies to ash.

The stories were true. San Cai and Black Snake watched in shock, speechless. They’d heard Ye Mo could fly, travel underground, shapeshift, and even breathe Samaya True Fire.

Though he hadn’t breathed fire, the flames incinerated the bodies. If that wasn’t Samaya True Fire, what was?

“Argh…” A Gen cried out, only to be turned to nothingness by Ye Mo’s fireball.

Black Snake and San Cai dared not speak. Ye Mo was a devil to them. They'd seen much death, but Ye Mo killed with such speed, turning men to ash before blood flowed.

Ye Mo entered the room and sat. Looking at the trembling Black Snake and San Cai, he calmly said, “Gang life is about killing and licking blood, yet you’re like this after I killed a few?”

Black Snake gradually calmed down. Though frightened, he was better than before. Hearing Ye Mo’s words, he thought, “Killing and licking blood—there must be blood to lick. We’re worse than meat on a chopping block.”

Ye Mo didn’t continue this topic, but asked, “Song family or Nan Qing? Speak.”
