Chapter 136: Must Not Offend Ye Mo

“What? You’re saying Ye Mo dared to go to Beijing?” Song Qiming received Song Hai’s report and could hardly believe it. Did Ye Mo want to die?

He hesitated, then recovered his composure. “Send a few people to bring him here. Nan Qing is useless; he can’t even handle Ye Mo.”

“Leader…” Song Huan hesitated, seeming to have something to say.

Song Qiming knew Song Hai was reliable, which is why he’d given him this important mission. Seeing Song Hai’s hesitation, he knew there was something to say. “Speak freely; we’re alone.”

Song Hai said, “I don’t think now is the right time to abduct Ye Mo.”

Seeing Song Qiming’s confusion, Song Hai explained, “A few days ago, Ye Mo flew from Mang River to Sri Lanka and returned three days ago. Sri Lanka has a direct route to the Sai Na Peninsula, so I think he’s been there.”

Song Qiming was stunned. “Ye Mo went to the Sai Na Peninsula? How did he survive? He killed Qian Longtou’s son; Qian Longtou wouldn’t let him go.”

Song Hai sighed. “That’s the problem, Leader. Qian Longtou wouldn’t let him go, yet Ye Mo returned unharmed. I can’t explain it unless Ye Mo killed Qian Longtou or Qian Longtou couldn’t do anything to him.”

Song Qiming frowned. If Song Hai was right, Ye Mo was incredibly powerful. He recalled Ye Mo’s time cultivating in Ning Hai. “Is Ye Mo really a student of ancient martial arts?”

He pondered. “If not, how could he go there and train? If he is, this is serious.”

Song Hai sighed. “Leader, don’t worry. Ye Mo just went to Sri Lanka; we don’t know if he went to Sai Na. Even if he’s a student of ancient martial arts, he wouldn’t be from a hidden sect if he could stay so long in the normal world. At most, he’s a solitary ancient martial artist’s disciple. I’ve sent people to investigate Sai Na; we should have news today.”

Song Qiming nodded, remaining silent until Song Hai’s phone rang. Song Qiming gestured for him to answer.

Song Hai answered, his face growing grimmer.

“What’s wrong?” Song Qiming saw the change in Song Hai’s face and sensed trouble.

Song Hai took a deep breath. “I just received news; something happened to Nan Qing. Sai Na is shut down because Qian Longtou is dead. Lang Ji and Nan Qing’s hierarchy are fighting for power; it’s chaotic.”

“What? Qian Longtou is dead?” Song Qiming was shocked. Qian Longtou had eluded the government for years, rampaged through America and Europe, and even established a gang base in Africa. He couldn’t believe he’d die so easily.

Song Qiming suddenly connected the dots: Song Hai mentioned Ye Mo possibly going to the Sai Na Peninsula, and then he heard of Qian Longtou’s death…

Song Hai realized this too. They looked at each other and simultaneously said, “Ye Mo.”

Song Qiming shivered. If Ye Mo could kill Qian Longtou amongst thousands of people, killing members of the Song family would be child’s play. No wonder he’d just walked into Beijing; he didn’t care about the Song family.

He was terrifying. Who was his master? Who trained such a monster? Song Qiming remembered Song Shaowen driving off the cliff that night. Things were too strange.

After a while, Song Qiming calmed down. “Immediately call a family meeting; tell everyone not to conflict with Ye Mo. And investigate Ye Mo’s recent activities immediately.”

Then, to Song Hai: “Did you tell Hu Qiu’s master what happened?”

Song Hai replied, “Hu Qiu’s master is on holiday; we can’t contact him yet. I’ll tell him once he returns.”

Song Qiming nodded. “Hold the family meeting immediately.”

As Ye Mo exited the tunnel, he saw the airport filled with people holding signs like “I love Tan Fei” and “Welcome Tan Fei.”

A pop star or celebrity was arriving. She seemed very popular.

“Excuse me,” the youth behind Ye Mo said, thinking Ye Mo was walking too slowly.

“Tan Fei, don’t worry, we’re in Beijing. And this place is narrow,” a crisp voice interrupted.

The youth didn’t rebuke. “Okay, Sister Fei. There are many fans outside; there might be a commotion. Let’s go somewhere more spacious later.”

Ye Mo realized the person behind was Tan Fei. He hadn’t intentionally blocked her, but as they exited the tunnel, he moved aside. Tan Fei had several large suitcases; it was better to let her pass.

Seeing Ye Mo move, Tan Fei politely said, “Thank you.”

Ye Mo shook his head. The tunnel was narrow, and many people seemed to be arriving at once; the inspection was slow.

Even after moving, Tan Fei and the youth only moved slightly and stopped.

“Thank you. This is my new, signed album—my latest one—for you.” Tan Fei’s voice was crisp, professional. They’d stopped due to security, so she gave Ye Mo the album, assuming he was a fan. He seemed calm.

Many people looked at Ye Mo admiringly. They knew Tan Fei but maintained composure. They didn’t expect her to give Ye Mo an album.

Ye Mo looked at the album and waved his hand. “Sorry, I don’t have anywhere to put it, and I don’t listen to music. It would be wasted on me.” He’d rejected the gift, but Tan Fei made a good impression; she was pretty, with thick eyebrows. While not as beautiful as Ning Qingxue, her light makeup gave her a unique charm.

Tan Fei awkwardly withdrew her hands. She hadn’t expected someone to reject her album and say they disliked music.

Not only Tan Fei but everyone around was shocked. Even if one didn’t like music, one should be polite. It was incredibly impolite to reject a star like that.

The youth glared at Ye Mo. Ye Mo smiled, unconcerned.

Tan Fei quickly recovered her composure. “I’m sorry; I didn’t know you didn’t like music. I thought you knew my name.”

Playfully, she added, “Seems I’m not famous enough, haha.” She then ignored Ye Mo.

Ye Mo smiled and didn’t reply.

“Hey, that was Tan Fei. Why didn’t you take it? She signed it for you, and you refused? Don’t tell me you’ve never heard of Tan Fei?” the youth asked.

Ye Mo replied speechlessly, “Why should I have heard of her?”

The youth was speechless.

Tan Fei heard Ye Mo’s words; the corner of her mouth twitched, but she said nothing. She found it odd. She was the most famous star in China and Hong Kong, and someone had just said they didn’t know her. A 60-year-old man would be understandable, but he was a young man. Thankfully, the tunnel cleared. She took a small case and walked out with her assistant. Seeing her fans, she regained confidence.
