Chapter 215: The Powerful Nun

Ye Mo, though buried underground, felt no worry. His fear wasn't of being buried itself, but of the dirt. However, escape proved feasible, albeit troublesome. A hundred meters wasn't enough to kill him.
He drew his long sword and began digging into the stone wall, choosing to tunnel forward. He’d dig upward only if necessary, as after ten meters, rubble disposal would become impractical.
Luckily, he broke through in under ten meters. Fresh air rushed in, and Ye Mo crawled out onto a cliff face. He sighed; though filthy, he’d avoided a hundred-meter ordeal.
As he prepared to leave, voices drifted down from above.
"Yu Lian, I tell you again, even if you hunt me to the ends of the earth, I didn't take anything, and I didn't kill Bian Po." The voice was a pleasant female voice.
Ye Mo considered extending his spirit sense but retracted it immediately. He knew Bian Po's strength. Anyone suspected of killing him would be at least his equal, and their accuser likely wouldn't be weak either. Extending his sense would be suicidal.
"Jing Xi, let's cut the crap. You weren't the only one searching for the Red Leaf Pumpkin Fruit, but you seem to be the only one alive. I saw you kill the bald Li Gang—are you going to deny that? Killing Bian Po is making an enemy of Dian Cang, and Bian Po's brother, Bian Chao, is expected to reach Earth level soon. Do you think he'll let you go if word gets out? Even your Serenity sect will be in danger," Yu Lian said slowly, showing no concern.
Ye Mo recognized the woman's voice. She was the nun who’d fought the bald man on the cliff. He hadn't expected her to kill him. He'd considered the bald man's swordsmanship superior, so her victory surprised him.
This nun was clearly dangerous and ruthless. He'd need to be cautious in a fight.
Jing Xi retorted, "Believe it or not, while I killed Li Gang, I didn't kill Bian Po or take the Red Leaf Pumpkin Fruit. If you don't believe me, I don't care."
Yu Lian sneered. "I'm doing business with you honestly, and you act like this. Jing Xi, you have two choices: hand over three Red Leaf Pumpkin Fruits and sleep with me, or I go to Dian Cang and say you killed Bian Po. Don't forget, while Serenity isn't bad, it's nothing compared to Dian Cang."
"Shameless," Jing Xi fumed.
Ye Mo's thoughts turned to Serenity—Luo Susu's sect. Jing Xi's affiliation surprised him. He wondered about her relationship with Luo Susu and whether he should intervene if they fought.
Yu Lian laughed, then stopped abruptly. "Jing Xi, compared to your shamelessness, I'm far inferior. You caused your Shijie Jing Xin's death for a man. Isn't that right? After harming your Shijie, you captured that man and slept with other men in front of him for revenge. Then, you killed them all, including the man you loved. Tell me, am I as shameless as you?"
"You…" Jing Xi managed only that.
Yu Lian waited patiently. Finally, Jing Xi said slowly, "Since you don't mind, I agree, but I expect you to keep your word."
Ye Mo heard the rustle of clothes being removed.
"Wait," Yu Lian interrupted.
Jing Xi's voice softened. "Since I'm in your hands and I've agreed, what else do you want?"
"Something's odd. Though I'm sure you killed your lover and slept with other men, how are you still a virgin?" Yu Lian's voice was wary.
Before Jing Xi could reply, he sneered. "I've lost interest. Just hand over three Red Leaf Pumpkin Fruits, and we're done. You go your way, I go mine. I've slept with countless women; I can tell a virgin. Don't try to trick me."
Ye Mo, who'd considered helping Jing Xi, changed his mind. Neither woman seemed virtuous. Why was Susu in such a chaotic sect?
"Bitch, you dare to deceive me!" Yu Lian roared. A fight ensued. From the sounds, both used swords, and were evenly matched.
Ye Mo was impressed. Despite killing an Earth-level master, Jing Xi fought Yu Lian on equal terms, demonstrating remarkable tenacity.
He wouldn't use his spirit sense or watch from above. He'd leave once the fight concluded.
The clash of weapons intensified, then subsided, eventually ceasing. After an hour, Ye Mo extended his spirit sense. The woman was gone; only Yu Lian's body remained.
Ye Mo climbed the cliff. Yu Lian's throat was crushed; a horsetail whisk lay nearby. He found a small jade plate inscribed with "37," burned Yu Lian's body, and prepared to leave.
He noticed a bloodied bush, indicating Jing Xi's escape route. She was heavily wounded.
Remembering their shared origin, Ye Mo quietly followed, despite her strength.
Though the blood trail was faint, Ye Mo tracked Jing Xi with his spirit sense. Two hours later, he found her unconscious beside a stream, severely injured.
He hesitated. Saving her, a woman who'd harmed her Shijie, felt wrong, especially considering Yu Lian's claims. Yet, he needed her to gain access to Serenity.
As he approached, he sensed Jing Xi's eyelids flicker. He withdrew his sense. She was waking.
He quickly positioned himself before her, feigning surprise. "A nun here! Attacked by a beast like me? Is she dead?"
He offered to help her up. Jing Xi opened her eyes. "Thank you, I can move. Can you get me some water? I'm very thirsty."
"I'm lost, chased by a beast, and have no container," Ye Mo said helplessly.
"Don't worry, use your hands," she replied, her face paling. She'd lost much blood.
Ye Mo fetched water. She produced a bottle and tried to apply medicine to her wounds, but her hand trembled.
"Need help?" he offered, knowing refusal would arouse suspicion.
"Yes, thank you. Help me apply the powder…" She coughed heavily, clearly weak and bleeding profusely.
Ye Mo helped her onto a rock and opened the bottle. Though appearing thirty, she seemed older, yet soft in his arms. He contrasted her with Ning Qingxue, finding Ning Qingxue's body far more comfortable to carry.
Several wounds were severe, particularly those under her left breast and at her waist. While applying medicine, he avoided eye contact with her chest, focusing on her movements. She was dangerous; he needed to remain vigilant.
When he tended her waist wound, he wasn't surprised by her smooth skin, but by the attractive band covering her belly and chest. Such a nun existed.
