Chapter 241: A Daughter and a Son

The goateed man chuckled. "Certainly, we should agree based on Mr. Mo's statement. This isn't a one-time auction, so if Mr. Mo has more pills…"

Ye Mo interrupted impatiently, "Collaboration is fine. If you need pills, I can supply them. We need to wrap this up; the auction is ending."

The goateed man, sensing Ye Mo's impatience, quickly replied, "Excellent. It's been a pleasure, Mr. Mo. I agree. After the auction, we can meet to discuss further collaboration."

Ye Mo sneered inwardly. Discuss my ass! He knew the man would disappear after the auction. Ye Mo still had 100 million yuan held by the auction house, but he wasn't foolish enough to claim it. He planned to escape immediately with the Blue Flowered Blue Leafed Grass. He'd recognized the goateed man as untrustworthy.

"1.1 billion!" The price soared.

Xi Wushan announced, "Please remain calm. At the owner's request, they will conduct the sale personally. We now turn the auction over to them."

The room quieted briefly, then erupted again. Although unprecedented, no one wanted to offend the owner of the Face Preserving Pill. If they could produce two, who knew how many more they possessed? Moreover, angering the owner meant losing the chance to buy, leaving them with nothing.

Ye Mo desperately wanted the Blue Flowered Blue Leafed Grass but remained cautious. Dressed in black from head to toe, including sunglasses, he hoped to remain anonymous. Recognition would be fatal.

"Now, the last Face Preserving Pill. The current bid is 1.1 billion. Are there any higher bids?" Despite altering his voice, some recognized him.

The black-clothed woman in Room 32 frowned, muttering, "He's remarkably like Da Hu, but that's impossible."

Had she removed her mask, Ye Mo would have immediately recognized Jing Xi.

"I bid 1.3 billion." The voice thrilled Ye Mo.

He'd been waiting for this bid. Without pausing for counteroffers, Ye Mo countered, "Mr. Xia, I have a proposal. If you provide your Liu Blue Carrot, the Face Preserving Pill is yours. My presence here is because I'm interested in your carrot."

Ye Mo spoke truthfully; others would learn the truth anyway. His statement, however, ignited the room, dashing the hopes of others.

Unfazed, Ye Mo quickly announced, "Everyone, calm down! Disruptive behavior will result in a sect-wide blacklist, barring you from future purchases of Face Preserving Pills or any other pills."

"What? There are more?" someone immediately asked.

Ye Mo brazenly lied, "Of course! Our sect is large. These two were merely a market test."

No one knew if the Face Preserving Pill granted eternal youth, but it definitely enhanced beauty—justifying the price.

"When's the next sale?" the crowd pressed.

Ye Mo calmly replied, "When the next batch is ready, we'll send out invitations worldwide."

The Xia family representative hesitated. Without future batches, he might agree. But if the Face Preserving Pill was mass-produced, the trade would be unfavorable.

Ye Mo's words restored calm. No one wanted to antagonize a sect capable of producing the pill, especially one with more than one type.

After a moment, the Xia elder stated, "A trade is possible, but I require only two flowers from the Liu Blue Carrot. Otherwise, I decline."

The room buzzed again; the three flowers were the carrot's most valuable part. Two were significantly less valuable.

However, Ye Mo was ecstatic. While the flowers were excellent, he could cultivate three more. Even without that, the roots and leaves were valuable ingredients.

"Agreed," Ye Mo said, suppressing his excitement.

The crowd was stunned as Ye Mo swiftly exchanged items with the Xia elder and retreated.

"Mr. Mo, please wait. After attending to other clients, we can discuss collaboration," the goateed man said, his politeness increasing, though Ye Mo's spiritual sense detected the malice in his eyes.

The man clearly wanted more than collaboration; he intended to exploit Ye Mo. Betrayal was expected when sufficient incentive was present. However, Ye Mo was confident the goateed man hadn't seen his face, making recognition difficult.

After Ye Mo nodded, the goateed man exited and locked the door from the outside, signaling the guards to detain Ye Mo. As Ye Mo left the auction, many others followed. He knew at least two, Lone Wolf and Zhang Zhihui, would pursue him.

Ye Mo removed his disguise and continued invisibly towards the Xi Shuang Temple exit. He couldn't use chi amongst so many masters, but he could still walk quickly.

To his surprise, Lone Wolf and Zhang Zhihui didn't appear. He didn't care; he hid, waiting for everyone to leave before departing, as his invisibility wouldn't last long. Being seen would mean death. He also doubted his invisibility would fool the numerous Earth Level masters.

Zi Xu and her master exited, still shaken by the Face Preserving Pill. Their semi-hidden sect's attendance had been difficult, making Ye Mo's actions even more astounding.

The nun beside Zi Xu said, "We'll discuss this later."

A black-veiled woman stopped them. "Friends, please."

Zi Xu trembled, but the nun calmly replied, "Please, Dao friend."

The woman smiled. "I'm inquiring about a young man in black. You likely know him."

Zi Xu's face paled. How did this woman know about Ye Mo? The nun's face also blanched. They didn't want to be involved with someone who had killed Qian Longtou single-handedly.

"You seem familiar with him. Please tell me," the black-clothed woman said, casually shattering a boulder with a kick, revealing her Earth Level strength.

The nun's face fell. She was only a Black Level tertiary cultivator, easily killed.

"The young girl mentioned knowing him in the Xi Shuang Temple. I didn't mishear," the woman said, her voice growing colder.

The nun calmed herself, looking at Zi Xu and sighing, "I can tell you, but it's only a guess. Please have mercy."

"Don't worry, speak quickly," the black-clothed woman urged.

"Zi Xu, tell her," the nun said.

Zi Xu, understanding her responsibility, stated, "It's Ye Mo."

"Ye Mo?" The woman was unfamiliar with the name.

Zi Xu continued, "He's from the Ye family in Beijing, son of Ye Wentian, grandson of Ye Beirong. He killed Qian Longtou."

"Ye Wentian's son? How could a member of a prominent family be this strong? Did he join a hidden sect?" The woman frowned, her gaze turning cold.

The nun quickly interjected, "No. Zi Xu suffered at his hands. I investigated; he's not Ye Wentian's biological son. Ye Wentian found him near Luo Hong Temple 22 years ago."

The black-clothed woman paused, then erupted in laughter. "Hahahaha! Twenty-two years ago, another child was found at Luo Hong Temple. The heavens are helping me! Shi Jie, Shi Jie, I didn't expect to find both your children! I wondered where your other bastard child went."
