Chapter 282: Re-entering Flowing Snake

After another week, Fang Nan’s leg had fully recovered. He could even practice a few moves with Zang Jiayan. Yuan Meixiang’s complexion was also improving daily. Ye Mo prepared to take Fang Nan and Zang Jiayan to Flowing Snake.
Leaving Xiao Huo and the Yuan siblings behind, Ye Mo took Fang Nan, Zang Jiayan, and others to Flowing Snake.
Ye Mo knew why Fang Nan had been kicked out of Flowing Snake. Xiao Huo had explained that it was largely due to him. Ning Qingxue had sought him out, and to protect her, Fang Nan had clashed with Shi Wei. Later, when Chi Wanqing came to Flowing Snake, he further disciplined Shi Wei. These actions caused Fang Nan hardship.
“Where did the Amphibian gang come from? Who was Shi Wei? How could he get the Amphibian gang to attack for him?” Ye Mo wondered. He’d heard of the major gangs, but never the Amphibian gang.
Fang Nan said worriedly, “The Amphibian Gang is a branch of Nan Qing. They’re powerful, and no one dares to cross them. Offending them means death. This time, we’re not looking for trouble; we just need to eliminate Shi Wei. Shi Wei’s sister is the lover of an Amphibian gang vice leader; that’s how he mobilized them. However, I heard the gang left Nan Qing. I don’t know if that’s true.”
As soon as Fang Nan finished, Zang Jiayan frowned, and Ye Mo sighed. Fang Nan was being reckless. Were they going to take revenge and then leave Flowing Snake immediately? If they didn't leave, they’d offend Shi Wei again. Would his brother-in-law let Fang Nan go?
Ye Mo remained silent, but Fang Nan immediately spoke in a troubled tone, “I’m afraid if I do anything to Shi Wei, his brother-in-law will retaliate.”
Zang Jiayan smiled. “That’s certain. We need a long-term plan if we can’t eliminate them quickly.”
While unaware of the Amphibian gang’s exact strength, Zang Jiayan knew of Nan Qing’s reputation. He knew fighting Nan Qing was futile. It wasn’t fear of death, but the need to prevent pointless actions. The Amphibian gang’s departure from Nan Qing suggested they weren't easily handled.
Ye Mo understood Zang Jiayan’s thoughts and smiled. “Jiayan, don’t worry. Others fear Nan Qing, but they’re no threat to me.”
He felt no threat from Nan Qing. Zang Jiayan was shocked but chose to believe Ye Mo. His years of experience told him Ye Mo wasn’t bluffing.
Fang Nan blindly admired Ye Mo. Despite knowing the Amphibian gang’s power, his first thought wasn’t revenge, but now, remembering the gang’s backing, he felt troubled. Despite his admiration for Ye Mo, he doubted Ye Mo could defeat Nan Qing’s army. The Amphibian gang’s supposed departure from Nan Qing wasn't verified.
“Fang Nan, haha, you’re still alive! You dare return to Flowing Snake? If I let you go today, you’re my father!” An arrogant voice echoed as Ye Mo entered Flowing Snake town.
Fang Nan’s face darkened. He identified the man and turned to Ye Mo. “Ye brother, that’s Shi Wei. They call him Echidna. Due to his influence in Flowing Snake and the Amphibian gang’s support, he controls Flowing Snake.”
Ye Mo examined Shi Wei. He appeared to be in his thirties, with bulging eyes suggesting excessive indulgence, but his expression was arrogant. Four menacing henchmen stood behind him.
“What are you looking at? I’ll gouge your eyes out later,” Shi Wei sneered at Ye Mo, then looked at Fang Nan. “Tell me where those two girls from last time are, and maybe I’ll let you live.”
“You’re Echidna?” Ye Mo was disappointed. Regardless of Shi Wei’s support, Fang Nan couldn't even handle him. Fang Nan was incompetent. Even without the power to fight Echidna, Ye Mo would have found a way to kill him before leaving Flowing Snake.
Shi Wei looked at Fang Nan, then Ye Mo, realizing who was in charge. He approached Ye Mo, raising his hand to lift his chin, but his arm was severed by Ye Mo’s wind blade before it reached Ye Mo’s face.
Ye Mo was merciless. He was here to kill.
“Aghhh…” Shi Wei screamed in pain, collapsing to the ground.
Fang Nan reacted instantly, knowing Ye Mo’s capabilities and unconcerned about his killing. Zang Jiayan also reacted, regarding Ye Mo with newfound respect. Although he suspected Ye Mo was an ancient martial artist when he provided the cultivation method, he hadn’t seen Ye Mo attack, nor the weapon used to sever Shi Wei’s arm.
“Kill him!” Shi Wei shrieked. His four men drew swords and attacked Ye Mo.
Zang Jiayan and Fang Nan also drew their curved swords.
But Ye Mo merely flicked his wrist twice, unleashing two wind blades that decapitated all four men. They ran a few steps before falling beside Shi Wei.
Ye Mo’s expression remained calm. Killing a few people was like stepping on ants. He was starting a business in Flowing Snake, and he needed to make a statement. No one would surrender Flowing Snake with mere words.
Fang Nan remained calm, but Zang Jiayan was shocked. He’d seen many masters, but none as powerful as Ye Mo.
He saw Ye Mo swiftly wave his hand twice, without any visible weapon, and four men were dead. What shocked Zang Jiayan more was Ye Mo’s casual attitude. Before, he thought Ye Mo's calmness after killing was due to a permit; now he knew it wasn’t.
For the first time, Zang Jiayan realized he hadn't truly understood Ye Mo. He’d only seen the surface. He knew little of Ye Mo’s background and power.
Ye Mo was decisive, prioritizing what mattered. He'd collected evidence before killing Dou Lin, but here, he didn’t ask questions. He was meticulous, not impulsive. Considering his past mistreatment, he believed following Ye Mo would lead to a great career. Zang Jiayan felt excitement and resolve.
Looking at the unconscious Shi Wei, Ye Mo told Fang Nan, “Bring him with us. We’ll take the most direct route into Flowing Snake.”
When Fang Nan’s men carried Shi Wei into Flowing Snake, everyone knew Fang Nan had returned for revenge. Fang Nan knew Flowing Snake better than Shi Wei and had more connections.
Shi Wei’s position in Flowing Snake stemmed from his brother-in-law’s influence. Otherwise, his petty skills would have gotten him killed.
Ye Mo didn’t kill many, just over ten of Shi Wei’s loyal men, and Flowing Snake was once again under Fang Nan’s control. Some of his former henchmen returned.
…
Shi Wei was thrown before Ye Mo like a dead dog. Fang Nan wiped blood from his body and spat on Shi Wei. “Ye brother, I’ve interrogated him. Qian Longtou’s death and internal conflicts within Nan Qing caused its disintegration. The Amphibian Gang declared independence and no longer belongs to Nan Qing. Their headquarters is at Sharp Corner Sea, and this guy’s brother-in-law leads the gang.”
Sharp Corner Sea? Ye Mo thought. He planned to go there anyway.
Six months ago in Hong Kong, he’d heard about Nan Qing’s internal conflicts. He hadn’t expected them to continue. He didn’t need to go to Nan Qing yet. He’d wait until the conflict ended before making his move. Lang Ji was incompetent; he still couldn’t control Nan Qing.
Shi Wei awoke, hearing Fang Nan’s words, realizing his dire situation. He pleaded, “Nan brother, have mercy. I’ll join the Pu Dao Gang. Spare me. If you kill me, my brother-in-law will…”
Ye Mo frowned, telling Fang Nan, “Drag him out and finish him.”
Fang Nan dragged the screaming Shi Wei away. The howling soon ceased. Fang Nan returned, blood on his clothes.
“Ye brother, Rock and Xiao Tei have gone to reassure the people. Flowing Snake should stabilize soon.” Fang Nan knew Ye Mo intended to control Flowing Snake. Many were interested in Flowing Snake; without Ye Mo’s forceful intervention, Fang Nan would be destroyed.
