Chapter 344: You Dare to Go to Dian Cang

The night was quiet. Jing Xian stood outside Serenity's tallest temple, gazing at the boundless cosmos. Serenity, passed down from her master, had been controlled by her junior martial sister for years. If Ye Mo hadn't arrived, this stalemate would have continued.

Countless times, she'd wanted to warn Jing Xi against crossing lines, to act in the sect's best interests, but she couldn't—couldn't say it, much less do anything. Jing Xi was her martial sister, and had witnessed her relationship with Ye Mo.

Though Jing Xi didn't know the man was her brother, before he died, he'd asked Jing Xian to care for her. She hadn't been able to. She could restrain herself, but she couldn't stop Ye Mo.

She'd expected Ye Mo to be no match for Jing Xi, that she would mediate their fight. But things escalated too quickly. Jing Xi was killed by Ye Mo. Jing Xian felt she had failed him, broken her promise.

After Jing Xi's death, she focused on improving Serenity, but then Dian Cang arrived. Jing Xian sighed. Perhaps she wasn't suited to be sect leader.

A purple ray shot from nearby. Jing Xian, shocked, rubbed her eyes, thinking she was seeing things. But it was real: a broadsword, with Ye Mo and his sister, Tang Beiwei, standing atop it.

"He can fly on a sword? Great Heaven? Or beyond?" Jing Xian was dumbfounded. She understood Ye Mo's arrival, but was more confused. Was such a thing possible? This surpassed the realm of ancient martial arts.

Even Great Heaven masters weren't said to fly on swords. The Da Mo ancestor, it was said, had cultivated ancient martial arts to the extreme, crossing a river on a blade of grass. But even he couldn't fly on a sword.

"Brother, can I do this too?" Tang Beiwei, standing on the flying sword, her melancholic mood lightening in the boundless sky, asked.

"You can," Ye Mo nodded.

Ye Mo was given Luo Ying's room—a place he preferred; it held many memories.

The next day, Jing Xian's gaze toward Ye Mo felt off, but he didn't care.

Three days passed quickly as Ye Mo taught Tang Beiwei. Besides Jing Xian's occasional visits, no one else came.

Then, the Dian Cang people arrived precisely on time—five of them. One was black level middle stage; the rest, at least earth level middle stage. Five were enough to annihilate Serenity.

But they were stopped by a young man.

"We Dian Cang are here with the marriage gift. Who are you, daring to obstruct us?" The leader, a bulky man in his fifties, wore a tight white robe.

"I am Tang Beiwei's brother. I refuse the marriage. Leave. I'm preventing dogs from biting people." Ye Mo smiled.

The white-robed man's face turned red with rage before he could react to the first half of the sentence. Their sect was one of the six major outer hidden sects, ranked sixth. This arrogant young man dared to call them dogs.

"You're bold! Who are you to dictate to us? Even if our young master wanted your mother, you'd agree, let alone your sister!" The weakest man yelled, contempt in his eyes.

Ye Mo's eyes turned cold. He stepped forward, releasing a wind blade. The white-robed man reacted swiftly, punching before Ye Mo closed the distance.

Ye Mo sneered, punching after the wind blade. The white-robed man recoiled, clutching his throbbing arm.

Splat! Blood sprayed as the black level warrior was bisected from head to toe. Organs and blood scattered, creating a horrifying scene. Everyone was stunned.

"Animal! You're asking to die! How dare you kill Dian Cang people!" The two weaker middle-aged men charged, one aiming a kick for Ye Mo's kneecap, the other for his dantian. They intended to cripple him and slowly torture him.

They believed that, despite Ye Mo killing their companion (a weak one, ambushed), they could easily break him. Two kicks would suffice.

The leader was shocked. He didn't expect such strength from such a young man. Still, Ye Mo wasn't a threat. That punch, at most, was earth level primary stage.

He jeered as his companions attacked. No matter Ye Mo's strength, he couldn't avoid this. He couldn't defy Dian Cang. Death awaited those who killed their people.

Little did he know Ye Mo hadn't used even a tenth of his power. Ninety percent went into the wind blade; ten percent into his punch.

Seeing the kicks, Ye Mo knew they underestimated him. He showed no mercy, sweeping his leg.

Crack! Two crisp sounds. Their legs were broken.

Before the leader registered this, Ye Mo kicked twice more.

They flew, spraying blood, crashing into the distant cliff. Dead. Three of five were dead. The two remaining stared, astonished.

The man beside the white-robed man roared, charging.

The white-robed man pulled him back. "Zhong Dan, don't!" Though his companions hadn't used full power, Ye Mo's strength was unfathomable. Zhong Dan was no match; his hand still ached.

Zhong Dan realized the folly of charging. Rage burned in his eyes; one of the dead was his brother, Zhong Ding.

"Friend, regardless of who you are, you killed without asking. Is this your master's teaching? How do you disrespect Dian Cang? Do you think you can take on all of Dian Cang alone? I'm Hu Nuoping. If you don't explain yourself, I will fight you to the death!" The white-robed man sneered. If he weren't wary of Ye Mo, he would've already attacked.

Ye Mo looked at him with contempt. "You're right. I never planned to spare Dian Cang. Lead the way. I'm coming to your sect."

"You dare come to Dian Cang?" Hu Nuoping seemed to be verifying Ye Mo's words. He hadn't expected Ye Mo to follow after killing so many. He was planning on getting reinforcements.

Ye Mo laughed. "Is Dian Cang a tiger's den? Am I barred? You plotted against my sister, so bear the consequences."

Hu Nuoping looked at Ye Mo coldly. He wasn't sure if he could beat Ye Mo. He hesitated, not attacking. Ye Mo going to Dian Cang was ideal. He could cultivate to this level so young; there were surely secrets to uncover.

Instead of killing him, he’d bring him back. Hu Nuoping sneered, turning to Serenity. "Jing Xian, Dian Cang will return."

Ye Mo said coldly, "Old man, leave now, or you won't leave at all. I'll kill you here."
